F- Le Switzerland Innovation Park Biel/Bienne (SIPBB) compte parmi les cinq sites de l’organisation faîtière que forme la fondation Switzerland Innovation. La mission de la fonda-tion consiste à coordonner les sites, les commercialiser à l’étranger et à gérer le cautionnement de la Confé-dération (montant de cautionnement d’env. CHF 70 millions par entité en charge des sites).

Objectifs de Switzerland Innovation : – générer des investissements étrangers dans la recherche

E- Switzerland Innovation Park Biel/Bienne (SIPBB) is one of five sites which make up the umbrella organi-zation behind Switzerland Innovation Foundation. The Foundation coordi-nates the five sites, markets them abroad, and manages the federal loan guarantees (about CHF 70 million guarantees per site).

The objective of Switzerland Innovation is to:

Am 23. Mai 2017 eröffnete der Switzer-land Innovation Park Biel/Bienne mit der Swiss Smart Factory die erste Test- und Demonstrationsplattform zum Thema Industrie 4.0 in der Schweiz.

Seitdem hat unsere Aktivität viel Zu-spruch aus Industrie, Forschung und Gesellschaft erhalten. In den ersten beiden Jahren unseres Bestehens haben wir die Test- und Demo-Infra-struktur am Standort Ipsach aufgebaut und zahlreiche Innovationsprojekte gemeinsam mit unseren Partnern zum Erfolg gebracht.

Für die Zukunft haben wir uns viel vor-genommen: Das neue Mitgliedschafts-programm stösst auf reges Interesse und bisher haben wir über 40 Mit-glieder aus Industrie und Forschung gewonnen. Gemeinsam bilden wir ein

Le 23 mai 2017, le Switzerland Inno-vation Park Biel/Bienne a ouvert la Swiss Smart Factory, la première plateforme de test et de démonstration suisse sur le thème de l’industrie 4.0.

Depuis, nos activités rencontrent unsuccès considérable auprès du mi-lieu industriel, de la communauté scientifique et de la société. Au cours des deux premières années d’existence, nous avons consolidé l’infrastructure de tests et de dé-monstration sur le site d’Ipsach et avons mené à terme de nombreux projets d’innovation en collabora-tion avec nos partenaires.

L’avenir se montre radieux: le nouveau programme d’adhésion rencontre un vif intérêt. Nous comptons d’ores et déjà une quarantaine de membres issus de l’industrie et de la recherche.

With the opening of the Swiss Smart Factory on 23 May 2017, the Switzer-land Innovation Park Biel/Bienne launched the first test and demon-stration platform for Industry 4.0 in Switzerland.

Since then our activities have gener-ated a lot of interest from industry, research and society in general. In the first two years we have devel-oped the test and demonstration infrastructure at our Ipsach site and together with our partners we have brought numerous innovative projects to a successful conclusion.

We have ambitious plans for the fu-ture. The new membership scheme is attracting considerable attention, and we have gained so far over 40 mem-bers from industry and research.

Together we are creating an ecosys-tem of partners in which unique in-novations relating to Industry 4.0 can be jointly developed and realized. With the green light for establishing an IoT-based pilot production facility, we are now investing in our future location at the Biel/ Bienne railway station, where from 2020 we will have a 1000 m2 pioneering test and demonstration center.

Die fortschreitende Digitalisierung aller gesellschaftlichen Bereiche wird zu nachhaltigen Veränderungen in der industriellen Wertschöpfung führen. Der sich aktuell vollziehende Umbruch wird als «Industrie 4.0» be-zeichnet und meint die Übertragung von Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI) und Advanced Human- Machine-Interaction in die industrielle Anwendung. Zu erwarten ist eine fundamentale Neuauslegung der in dustriellen Wertschöpfung auf Grundlage neuartiger Produktions- und Logistikkonzepte. Im Mittelpunkt steht der Aufbau von Smart Factories als hochflexible, leistungsfähige Pro-duktionssysteme – und deren Vernet-zung im Internet der Dinge und Dienste.

Um die Potenziale rund um die Indus-trie 4.0 verstehen, bewerten und nut-zen zu können, ist breites inter diszip-linäres Handeln in der Forschung und Entwicklung erforderlich. Neben den technologischen Grundlagen, bedarf es Wissen zu den Anwendungen, Geschäftsmodellen und sonstigen Rahmenbedingungen. Die Swiss Smart Factory bietet eine Plattform zu eben diesen interdisziplinären Frage stellungen und fördert die dringend notwendige Zusammen-arbeit zwischen Industrie, Forschung und Politik, um die digitale Transfor-mation aktiv zu gestalten.

L’évolution fulgurante de la numéri-sation dans tous les domaines de la société va conduire à long terme à des changements dans la création de valeur industrielle. Les changements profonds en train de s’opérer, connus sous le nom d’ « industrie 4.0 », im-pliquent l’adoption de l’Internet des objets (IoT), de l’intelligence artificielle (AI) et des interactions homme- machines avancées dans les applica-tions industrielles. Il faut s’attendre à une conception radicalement nou-velle de la création de valeur dans l’industrie, qui sera fondée sur des stratégies de production et de logis-tique. Au cœur de ce processus se situe la création de smart factories, des systèmes de production extrê-mement flexibles et performants, et leur mise en réseau sur l’Internet des objets et des services.

Pour pouvoir comprendre, appré-hender, puis exploiter les potentiels liés à l’industrie 4.0, il est nécessaire d’adopter une approche largement interdisciplinaire de recherche et d’in-novation. Outre les bases techniques, il faut posséder des connaissances sur les applications, les modèles d’affaires et d’autres conditions-cadres. La Swiss Smart Factory offre justement une plateforme pour ces questions interdisciplinaires et encourage des collaborations indispensables de toute urgence entre l’industrie, la communauté scientifique et les mi-lieux politiques, pour négocier de manière active le virage numérique.

Progressive digitization in all areas of society will lead to permanent changes in industrial value creation. The current transformation is re-ferred to as “Industry 4.0” and refers to the transfer of the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Advanced Human-Machine Interaction into industrial practice. What is to be expected is a funda-mental reappraisal of the industrial value chain based on new production and logistics concepts. The focus will be on the design of smart factories as highly flexible, efficient produc-tion systems and their connection to the Internet of Things and services.

In order to understand, evaluate and realize the potential of Industry 4.0, a broad interdisciplinary approach to research and development is re-quired. In addition to the technologi-cal basics, an understanding of the applications, business models and other relevant factors is required. The Swiss Smart Factory offers a platform for precisely these interdis-ciplinary issues and promotes much-needed collaboration between industry, research and politics to proactively promote this digital transformation.
