15 DECATUR FAMILY YMCA | Spring 1 Program Guide Monday Thursday Saturday 9:00–9:30 am 5:30-6:00 pm 9:00-9:30 am 4:30-5:00 pm 15 SWIM LESSONS SWIM BASICS & SWIM STROKES – FAMILY POOL For Preschool 3-5 years (Recommended skills for all to have around water) One lesson per week: $40 for Members | $80 for Non-Members Two lessons per week: $75 Members | $150 Non-Members Stage A: Parent/Child Swim Lessons SWIM STARTERS – FAMILY POOL For Parent & Child 6 months – 3 years One lesson per week: $22 Members | $44 Non-Members Focuses on exploring body positions, blowing bubbles, and fundamental safety and aquatic skills. Swim Lesson registration for all swimmers will end the Friday before the program starts. A minimum of 4 swimmers per classes is required to host the lesson. If the required minimum is not met, the child will have the option of being placed in another class. Spring 1 will begin February 17 – March 28. Spring 2 registration begins March 16 – March 27. We no longer accept late registrations. Stage 1: Water Acclimation Increases comfort with underwater exploration and introduces basic self-rescue skills performed with assistance. Swim Strokes stages 1-6: students will learn additional water safety skills and build stroke technique .

Swimmers will receive a 45 minute lesson with a 5 minute instructor feedback at the end.

INDIVIDUAL & SMALL GROUP PRIVATE SWIM LESSONSPrivate lessons are taught outside of regular lesson times with only Y/USA certified coaches and instructors.

Participants wanting a small group class with 2 or 3 swimmers must register at the same time as the other participants. Lesson time and instructor must be arranged prior to registering for classes.
