According to the National Survey of

Student Engagement, Sweet Briar out-

performs other colleges in its level of

academic challenge, active and

collaborative learning, student-

faculty interaction, enriching

educational experiences

and being a supportive campus

environment.

And, the Princeton Review is not shy about including us their top 20 lists:

Discussions Encouraged, #4 Professors Get High Marks, #3 Most

Accessible Professors, #8 Best Classroom Experience. (2011)

Wide-open spaces to learn

Education at Sweet Briar is personalized. It’s about your discovery of

new interests in an environment that offers highly accessible professors.

There are more than 40 programs of study with the flexibility to form

your own major. And there’s plenty of guidance. Our advising team

includes faculty, staff and alumnae. Research is part of the experience

here and professors work alongside you to discover new insights.

World-wide opportunities

Customize your experience abroad. Spend a summer, a semester or a full

academic year overseas studying at world-class institutions, living with

host families and becoming part of an international culture. You’ll work

with your professors to define where and why. Students have journeyed to

places from Australia to China, from Ireland to Russia, from Brazil to India.

Specifically, Sweet Briar College has three centers with a strong reputa-

tion: one in Seville, Spain, and two in France in Nice and Paris. We also

have partnerships in cities around the world, including London

(Oxford), Rome, Athens, Beijing and Kyoto. We have competitive
