Swatchhata pledge taking Ceremony
(16th
January 2020)
“A clean India would be the best tribute India could pay to Mahatma Gandhi on his 150 birth anniversary in
2019,” said Shri Narendra Modi as he launched the Swachh Bharat Mission. As per the guidelines given by
MHRD, RMCET, Ambav has organized Swatchhata pakhawada during 16th
January 2020 to 31st January
2020. As part of this abhiyan, “The Swachhta Pledge Taking Ceremony” was organized in our college on
16th
January 2020. In that program importance of cleanness has explained to students. This day is
celebrated by taking following pledge.
SWACHHATA ABHIYAN in College Campus
( 21st January 2020 )
Indians gained freedom under the leadership of Gandhiji, but his dream of a clean India is still unfulfilled.
Mahatma Gandhi said "Sanitation is more important than independence". He made cleanliness and
sanitation an integral part of the Gandhian way of living. His dream was total sanitation for all. Cleanliness
is most important for physical well-being and a healthy environment. It has bearing on public and personal
hygiene. It is essential for everyone to learn about cleanliness, hygiene, sanitation and the various diseases
that are caused due to poor hygienic conditions. The habits learnt at a young age get embedded into one's
personality. Even if we inculcate certain habits like washing hands before meals, regular brushing of teeth,
and bathing from a young age, we are not bothered about cleanliness of public places. Mahatma Gandhi
said, “I will not let anyone walk through my mind with their dirty feet.”
Gandhiji dwelt on cleanliness and good habits and pointed out its close relationship to good health. No one
should spit or clean his nose on the streets. In some cases the sputum is so harmful that the germs infect
others. In some countries spitting on the road is a criminal offence. Those who spit after chewing betel
leaves and tobacco have no consideration for the feelings of others. Spittle, mucus from the nose, etc, should
also be covered with earth.
Keeping in mind above views of Mahatma Gandhi we organized Swatchhata Abhiyan drive in our college
campus. In this drive our NSS volunteers were cleaned total campus of college. Principal Dr. M. M.
Bhagawat, Prof. Belekar R. D. has also take initiative to encourage students about cleanness. The students
were given Snacks after successful completion of program.
FOREST CONSERVATION
( 22nd
January 2020 )
Venue: Ambav village
Objective of this programme: To spread the awareness about Forest conservation
Forest conservation as the name suggests is the preservation and the protection of forests. It also involves the
reversal of deforestation and environmental pollution. The preservation of all natural resources is absolutely
essential for the balance of our ecosystem.
The most important function of forests is that it produces mass amounts of oxygen as a by-product
of photosynthesis. Oxygen is the main respiratory gas for all animals, it ensures our survival.
And while photosynthesis, trees also absorb carbon dioxide from the air. This is one of the main pollutants of
air pollution. Hence forests also reduce air pollution.
By giving information about the earlier disaster such as burning of amazon rain forest for continuous 10
months which destroyed about 17-18 % of total rain forest. Also the disaster happened in Australia caused
major damage to ecosystem.
By this information we spread awareness among the people to conserve the forest by reducing the rate of
cutting of trees.

Water conservation
( 2 8th
January 2020 )
Venue: Nive village
Objective of this programme: To spread the awareness about Water conservation.
By giving information about water conservation day is celebrated on 22 nd of March.
Water conservation includes all the policies, strategies and activities to sustainably manage
the natural resource of fresh water, to protect the hydrosphere, and to meet the current and
future human demand. Population, household size and growth and affluence all affect how
much water is used. Factors such as climate change have increased pressures on
natural water resources especially in manufacturing and agricultural irrigation. Many
countries have already implemented policies aimed at water conservation, with much
success.
The ways by which water can be conserved are -
Do not leave tap open.
Do not open the tap and run away.
Do not leave tap open while brushing; etc.
Water reuse
Reuse water from old drinking bottles.
Place a bucket in the shower.
Use a rain barrel to save runoff from your roof.
Water the plant with pasta water.
Reuse the water you wasted your veggies.
By this information, we spread awareness among the people to conserve the water by
reuse, recycle and save water.
