SwarfPak – The universal solution
Main challenges in traditional milling :
•Swarf to surface creates logistical and environmental challenges
•Swarf size is large often creating bird nesting and pack-offs
•Milling speed is low – normally less than 3 m/hr
•High vibrations
•Knives / Cutters wear fast and often multiple runs are needed to mill a 50 m section
SwarfPak - Technical Goals :
•Swarf left down-hole
•Swarf size optimized and at a controlled and homogenous size
•Milling speed: 18 – 30 m/hr!!
•Reduces vibrations
•Milling of 50 m section in 1 run

Swarf Challenges:
• Bird nesting, Pack-Offs, etc
• Hole Cleaning,
• Formation fracturing
SwarfPak Goals:
• Cutting Swarf Continously
while machining
• Optimizing & Secure Swarf Size
• Optimizing Performance

SwarfPak – Testing Status
Early size
Various testing has been performed to optimize swarf size.
We have now developed a very homogenous and small swarf.
