The Chaparral MusicFest Suzuki Academy fills a need within the Arizona community for an affordable Suzuki style camp for violin and piano students. The classes offered stimulate and motivate our students while reinforcing the skills developed in the normal course of study at home.Unique in our academy is the opportunity for Book 1 through Book 2 violin and piano students to play duets together in what we call our “5 minute duet” series. All music and training for these duets will be provided at the camp. Plus we will give you a cool T-Shirt with the academy emblem.Students: This year, the camp is open to Book 1 - 2 students of ages 6 through 12. Piano students who have polished the repertoire at least through Book 1’s Mary Had a Little Lamb and violin students who have polished the pieces at least through Book 1’s Perpetual Motion are invited to join us. Like all Suzuki Camps, our academy is a family experience. All students must be accompanied by a parent or other responsible adult. Piano students should bring seat boosters and footstools for their use.Suzuki Repertoire: Each student should review the entire Suzuki repertoire up to their current piece. Violin students will be given a play-in list. Be prepared to play your polished (recital-ready) piece for your lesson class teacher at your first lesson. This should be a piece that has been studied over a period of time.Final Concert: All students will perform in the final Academy concert on Saturday, June 8. The repertoire and duet classes will prepare the students for this concert. Official attire for this
