Alison Gara, owner of the new Yoga Method studio in Sutton presented an enjoyable “Yoga for Gardeners” Class to help us prepare for the upcoming gardening season. With varying yoga experience, members participated for 45 minutes of yoga asanas to stretch, strengthen and open our frontal body to counteract the effects of rounding and leaning forward (while gardening, electronic device use, working at a desk, etc.) There are a variety of classes at her studio. If interested, check them out.

Cheryl Monroe presented a very interesting and informative program about container gardening (outside year round) and it’s versatility. Of course, not all plants will withstand the New England winters in a pot outside, but many will. She focused on Clematis, smaller Hydrangea and Conifers. Her pots of choice are Mayne. These are readily available online and/or at local home improvement stores or general merchandise stores. She does not recommend using clay pots due to the fact that with moisture & freezing temps they may crack or break. Her website is a wealth of knowledge. Visit it at: http://www.gardenintheburrow.com/
