VOUCHER SCHEME
• The voucher is a document awarded to selected existing businesses by the Investment Committee and entitles them to buy selected Business Support Services.
• It is expected that the business will contribute to a ‘top up’ or a ‘buy one service and’ get one free’ voucher scheme. This will also show a commitment on behalf of the entrepreneur and get an understanding of how they feel about paying for a BDS.

Invitation for Expression of Interest
Water For People in Uganda is seeking ‘Expressions of Interest’ from innovative, creative, ‘out of the box’ thinking individuals or companies to assist in the development of new low-cost latrines designed to meet the demands of the poor in both urban and rural areas. Emptying and maintenance issues should be considered in all designs to ensure maximum sustainability. The suitably qualified person or company should be able to demonstrate a high level of technical innovation. Closing date for accepting letters of interest is 6th May 2011. Please send letters of interest to Julia Kent, [email protected], or hand deliver them to our offices on Plot 9 Olumi Close, Kitante, Kampala. Water for People in Uganda are seeking ‘Expressions of Interest’ from innovative, creative, thinking ‘out of the box’ engineers (individual or company) to assist in the development of ‘new technology’ pit latrine emptying mechanisms. The suitably qualified person should have access to a well-equipped, well-maintained fabrication workshop, and be able to demonstrate a high level of technical innovation. The target latrines would be those in densely populated areas and therefore not accessible by the local pit emptying service tankers. Closing date for accepting letters of interest is 6th May 2011.
