Luminaria Order FormA Special TributeHope shines it’s brightest during the Luminaria Ceremony at the Relay For Life. Held at 10:00pm, friends gather around the candlelit track to remember, honor and celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer. Luminarias are small bonfires – traditional symbols that originated in the Southwest region of the U.S. Since the 16th century, Luminarias have burned alongside the road or in churchyards as part of religious festivals and celebrations. Each Luminaria represents not only a treasured relationship, but also a contribution to the American Cancer Society’s mission. Luminaria

gifts support research, prevention, early detection, and improved quality of life for cancer patients. Whether or not they are present at Relay For Life, Luminaria donors light the way for hope, progress and answers.The Luminaria Ceremony will be held at 10pm, at the Relay For Life of Defiance on June 24, 2011 at the Defiance High School. You are encouraged to attend the ceremony and witness the lighting of your loved one’s candle.
