Individual survey at MIDC, Waluj, it was founded that there are different types of industries unit including Distillery, chemicals, electroplating and pharmaceuticals. These water intensive units are basically large and medium scale units which meet their water requirement approximately of 34.83 MLD from major water supply scheme of MIDC Waluj directly from the Jayakwadi dam. Waluj MIDC is located about 12 km. south west of the main Aurangabad city on Aurangabad-pune highway. For survey of the area we chose mini- watershed Ranjangoan (S) covering entire Waluj MIDC area covering an area of 71sq. km. based on the drainage to carry out the water sampling in scientific manner. The villages falling in the mini-watershed are karodi, shajapur, Ranjangoan( shenpunji),kamlapur, Jogeshwari, Ramaraiwadi and shivrai. As per the information provided by SRO,MPCB, Aurangabad and NEERI report, there are about 34 major industries in Waluj MIDC area. As mentioned in the MPCB affidavit dated 22/01/2014 submitted before the Hon’ble NGT the CETP has been operational since july 2011. Till then the effluent generated by industries was treated by individual industries before disposing it on their own land for irrigation purpose as per the conditions imposed in MPCB consent.

Individual survey at MIDC, Waluj, it was founded that there are different types of industries unit including Distillery, chemicals, electroplating and pharmaceuticals. These water intensive units are basically large and medium scale units which meet their water requirement approximately of 34.83 MLD from major water supply scheme of MIDC Waluj directly from the Jayakwadi dam. Waluj MIDC is located about 12 km. south west of the main Aurangabad city on Aurangabad-pune highway. For survey of the area we chose mini-watershed Ranjangoan (S) covering entire Waluj MIDC area covering an area of 71sq. km. based on the drainage to carry out the water sampling in scientific manner. The villages falling in the mini-watershed are karodi, shajapur, Ranjangoan( shenpunji),kamlapur, Jogeshwari, Ramaraiwadi and shivrai. Survey to be done;

Amount of ETP Whether CETP is in working condition. Collection of samples Analyse the sample Identification of sample Analysis of physical properties of soil (Hydraulic conductivity,

bulk density, water holding capacity and porosity). Chemical properties of soil (COD,BOD,DO, etc ). Major polluting industries.

Major objectives of the present study are as follows;

Evaluate suitability of various types of soil for treatment and disposal of wastewaters.

Measure the ground pollution potential by leachates/percolated from land disposal system.

Evaluate physic-chemical and microbiological changes in different soil irrigated with wastewater.
