Surrealism is a movement which occurred during the late 1910’s and the early 1920’s. It was a period in which artists used surreal objects to create paintings.

Artists would deform shapes and the look of objects to make a dreamlike painting.

The paintings would be made to look as real as possible by having detail, light and shadows.
