For watersport enthusiasts Being infected with the Stand Up Paddle virus we

wanted to continue paddling even when the summer

season was over. So we started to search for a proper

clothing but no kayak suit or wetsuit seemed to work

perfectly for Stand Up Paddling. Too sweaty, too bul-

ky and way too uncomfortable for a daily use. We

from SUPSKIN had to come up with our own solution.

After intense research we found the best fabric on the

market and after testing different models we finally

created our perfect suit. We are happy to be able to

offer a great solution for all watersport enthusiasts

around the world.

Thanks to all our friends and family for their support

and for the strong believe in SUPSKIN. Enjoy our pro-

ducts and have fun on the water! Wolfgang Leeb

ST.MORITZ TO VENICE

iSUP CROSSING by Wolfgang Leeb An unusual trip on a surfboard straight across the Alps. 650 km paddling on an iSUP within 7 days sup-ported by a scooter -down from the Swiss Alps on 2,000 m to the sea. Crazy, exciting, always thrilling. More than 100,000 paddle strokes, 250 km by scooter over country roads, 30,000 kcal and 16-hours a day. Thunderstorms, strong winds and heat with up to 40 ° Celsius were my companions on this river and sea tour in August of 2013. An adventure I wanted to experience

"unsupported" within one week. Only in Saint

Moritz, on the Reschenpass and in Venice I was ac-

companied by my photographer mirjageh.com to

give the necessary picture work to this story. The

fascination was to show that it is possible to cross

the Alps on rivers and lakes up to the sea with one

inflatable. One goal - one concept. Brilliantly simply,

exciting and to the imitation recommended.

LIFE IS YOURS by Wolfgang Leeb

Born on a cold December winter day in the middle of Austria – the idea of crossing the Alps on an in-flatable SUP board thrilled my mind. Infected with the Stand Up Paddle virus and open for long multi days adventures I decided to give it a try if I could find a decent path following rivers, lakes and down to the ocean. Looking at my map it was pretty clear that such a voyage wouldn´t become an easy task. There are only a few possibilities for a tour like this and I decided to start in St. Moritz in the Swiss Alps all the way down to Venice in Italy. Not only the name of both towns sounds spectacu-lar, also the route itself following the Inn river up to whitewater level 3 to 4, further the second longest river in Italy –Adige – cross Lake Garda and along the Adriatic sea , is a very promising task.

The concept of an unsupported tour with only one inflatable board got me hooked right away.

It was up to me to proof what is possible in this early stage of iSUP technologies. The lake of St. Moritz lies in front of the famous Swiss Alpine town at about 2.000m above sea level. Surrounded by 10.000 feet high peaks it is a small lake but the starting point for an 650 km long en-deavour. I arrived by train with all my equipment carrying along. For the sections which could not be paddled I chose a 2 wheel scooter for transporting me and my luggage on the road. A concept that turned out to work just perfectly. After my arrival by train in St. Moritz I unpacked and inflated my board and crossed the lake in 30 min-utes time. Then I had to change back to the scooter until the river Inn that give the Tyrolean town Inns-bruck its name was big enough to paddle. This river in the Alps of Engadin can become pretty rough, up to whitewater level 6, so I had to be careful not to get caught in one of those for Stand Up Paddlers impossible sections.

Although I also did my crash, cut my nose bleeding and losing a paddle instead of my life. The rest of the first 100 km down to the Swiss/Austrian border was easy to go on and off the river. In Martina village I left the Inn, hiked up about 5 miles to cross the Alps at the Reschen summit at 6.000 feet. Crossing lake Reschen with its famous 2nd world war sunken village and the only remaining church tower I followed the bike trail down to Glurns. This medieval little town in Italy was my starting point on river Adige which is the second longest river through Italy (412 km). The scenery is spectacular, passing valleys of apple trees and beautiful medieval castles such as Juval, the home of Reinhold Messner, the first man on the EV-EREST without oxygen. Just behind BOZEN and tired of getting on and off

the river, due to three more dams which made a pass-

ing impossible, I decided to search for a place to

sleep. A nice sandy river bank, my board and my SUP-

SKIN dry suit made a perfect comfortable campsite.

In Rovereto the next morning I decided to leave the river again and hopped over to the famous wind-surf spot “Lago di Garda”. This huge 30+ miles long but narrow lake is home for some of the best wind-surfers in Europe and a real challenge for Stand Up Paddlers. Luckily the wind pushed me from behind. I had a real downwinder until the changed. At Torri d. Benaco game was over and further paddling im-possible. Under the surprised eyes of the Italian locals I cruised by scooter pretty fast all the way down to road to reach the river again. Another three hours and I would arrive at famous town of Verona. An-other dam and very low water level caused 5 hours travelling time but at least gave me the chance of fresh food and the best shower in a week. Meandering the Italian Adige all the way to Chiog-gia at the Adriatic sea was a mentally and also physically very challenging distance. Two more days passing Legnago and Rovigo I had to give every-thing I had. Telling myself again and again that I am doing this trip voluntarily and pushing through low blood sugar after 16 hours of paddling I finally reached the open ocean with a full-throated scream. The chance of succeeding on this trip became reality.

Only the ocean didn´t let me pass with ease. After cruel but quiet and calm long distance paddling the wind and waves of the Adriatic sea gave me hell.

Hours and hours of hard paddling sometimes against strong cur-rents and headwinds I finally reached the Marco Polo town of Venice.

7 days, 100.000 paddle strokes, 30.000 calories and three kinds of different water types later I reached the famous town with no roods. The lo-cal gondoliers shook my hand and tourists asked for pictures. I was very excited, super stoked and happy to be alive and safe. My photographer MirjaGeh.com who had fol-lowed me to St. Moritz came to pick me up in this pictoresque old town. Finally I am glad I did it, just to prove what is pos-sible with the best equipment and one iSUP Board for all waters. Get up find yourself a chal-lenge and give it a try! You´ll never know the out-come but you´ll be happy and proud of yourself just doing it as good as possible. Be safe and have fun paddling.
