+About MeI enjoy working with people and dealing with customers especially if problem-solving is required. I have excellent knowledge of computer programs through academic learning and personal use and enjoy using computers as part of my job role. I have excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office programmes, web design and Flash and using programmes such as Adobe Dreamweaver and Photoshop. I have experience in using different operating systems such as Windows, Mac and Linux.

I have excellent communication skills, which I’ve developed in my various job roles and through working with a range of clients. I have experience, from the commercial and private sector, of working as part of a team or on my own initiative whilst managing my time effectively in order to meet deadlines or to prioritise urgent work/tasks. I am a fast learner who will undertake any additional training which will benefit myself and the company I work for. I have experience with administration tasks such as filing, archiving, answering telephones, faxing, photocopying etc. I am a flexible worker who will work within the requirements of the job and any other work as necessary to benefit the organisation I work for and my own development.

I enjoy learning from others and supporting my colleagues to produce high quality work to gain a good reputation for the company and myself.

+ICT/New MediaBack

During my time at WCT I have earned the reputation of being someone who is good with computers and creating promotional material; this is something I enjoy due to the problem solving aspects of it and the creativity that comes with creating a poster or improving our website to make it more user friendly and easily accessible. I am self taught in most of the things I know regarding computers/new media this is because I have a general interest in them and I'm always looking for new challenging ways to develop my skills.

I currently produce the “Whats On’s” information, update the website, design posters and promote WCT in different forms of social media. I am usually the first point of contact for people when they do have issues with their computers or are unsure how to use a program or access something on the computer.

I fit all this in whilst manning a busy customer service desk, I feel if I had dedicated time to spend on this I could make a lot more improvements that would be beneficial to the Trust.

+Data Collection and ReportsBack

While working on the Customer Service desk I take in a lot of information from financial to customer. One aspect of my current role is to collate this information into reports for my line manager and other managers at WCT. Some people may find this boring but I enjoy seeing the outcome of the bigger picture and I believe the data (good or bad) can be used to improve the Trust in the long term.

In 2013 WCT did a community consultation asking young people and members of the community their thoughts on the trust and what they would like to see from the trust. I was asked by the service delivery manager if I would collate this information so it could be used in reports; this took many hours but was extremely beneficial to the trust and for myself working on customer service. Collating the information provided an insight as to what customers and potential customers thought of the trust and what was expected.

Data collection is important as it helps us to collect, study and record information, make decisions about important issues as well as pass information on to others. It enables us to provide information regarding a specific topic or area of study. Making decisions on the basis of poor quality data is risky and may lead to disastrous results, as the situation may be distorted and all subsequent analyses and decision making will rest on a shaky ground.

+The FutureBack

Below is a list of some of my goals if I was successful in gaining the post of SMT Administrator (working in a ever changing environment these would always be subject to change so that my skills and experience were being used for the needs of the trust at any specific time)

Continue to improve and learn new skills that will be beneficial to myself and WCT.

Redesign the website.

Get WCT’s name out there more using social media and promotional material.

Research ways to improve the services we provide.

Collate information for reports to see the bigger picture of the trust from an operational point of view.

Continue to help colleagues with computer questions or queries so they can work to the best of their ability.

Improve the way we communicate within the Trust.

Research and Implement a new intranet.

Work with other colleagues to shape the future of the trust
