Supporting Foodbanks in the Diocese of London
during COVID 19 outbreak
Last updated 1st May 2020
Almost all foodbanks in London are still opening, with amended practices to ensure proper social distancing and protection for their
volunteers. The biggest need currently remains food supplies- with people not going out shopping as much, and unable to access various
foods, their donations are down at this time of great need.
Please check below for specific foodbank needs, and how best to get food to them https://www.trusselltrust.org/coronavirus-food-
banks/get-involved/
In addition, many mutual aid groups have sprung up and some emergency foodbanks as part of that. Contact your local council to find out
about your local response, and also Mutual Aid Groups: https://covidmutualaid.org/
All information accurate as far as possible, as of 1st May 2020. There may be foodbanks missing, specifically more informal/independent ones. If there are
ones we don’t know about please email [email protected] with details and we’ll add to the list.

As the Coronavirus pandemic unfolds, it’s a time of great uncertainty for many. We don’t think anyone in our community – regardless of what’s happening in the world –
should have to face going hungry. This is why Ealing

Over the past four weeks, we have transformed every
aspect of how we work in order to meet increased demand
during the pandemic, whilst ensuring that our staff,
volunteers and guests are protected

Whilst Sufra is closed to the public for the duration of the
pandemic, our emergency food aid services are fully
operational and are being scaled up to meet growing
demand.
With Sufra’s support, a temporary new food hub has been established by Brent Council to reach those who are not in
touch with existing food aid providers. The Council’s food aid service can be accessed by calling 020 8937 1234.
Food Bank: This is now a delivery only service, with referrals
for food aid received electronically from our network of
voluntary sector organisations. Sufra mainly delivers food
parcels to refugees, asylum seekers and homeless families
without cooking facilities and the new Council food hub
delivers many of our other requests.
