PARENT HANDBOOK

Welcome and thank you for being part of this new and exciting journey. We are looking forward to building relationships with you and your children. Please take time to read this booklet as it contains important information which will help you and your child get the most from your playgroup experience. Please feel free to speak to one of our experienced staff if you have any questions or concerns. BACKGROUND Anglicare is a non for profit organisation, providing a while range of community services to families throughout the Liver-pool/Warwick farm area. Some programs we provide are: Family Support workers, Home Visits, Counsellors, Financial Counsellors, NILS ( No Interest Loan Scheme), StepUp loans, Supported Playgroups, Parenting Courses, Support Groups, Emergency Relief, Fresh Food Tuesdays and Community

BBQ’S. PARK N PLAY is a mobile supported playgroup, funded by the Australia Government -Department of Social Services. An important focus is the value of play in children’s development.

Health and Safety Please always be aware of the Emergency Evacuation Procedures. This is displayed either in the hall way or the playgroup room and this is discuss at enrolment. We have regular fire drill. If you child get hurt or injured please advise one of our staff so that we can administer the correct first aid.

Child Wellbeing Policy Park n Play Supported Playgroup supports the right for each child to live and learn in a safe and secure environment. The Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998 states that all people who hold a management position or who are paid worker delivering children’s services, are legally obliged to report any child who is at significant risk of significant harm, based on any reasonable grounds. Therefore, as mandatory reporters, our staff are required to report and act in accordance with the recommended

Parent Feedback We encourage parents/carers to give us any feedback.

Feedback can be compliments, suggestions, enquiries, concerns or complaints. Anglicare Park n Play will make all reasonable attempts to resolve your concerns. If no satisfactory resolution can be reached, The Family Services Manager with Senior Management with discuss how to best resolve situation and implement step to resolve issue. Parents/carers, family members and visitors to PARK N PLAY have an important role to play in the supported playgroups. We appreciate and value any help or suggestions that you can provide.

Please note that Park n Play is NOT a form of child-care and parents/carers must be present at all times

Always sign in and out for safety The parent/carer must always supervise their child/

NSW Section 6A of the smoke-free environment Act 2000. As from 7 January 2013 smoking is not allowed with 10 metres of children’s play equipment in outdoor public places in NSW. Fines up to $550.

Clothing Please bring your child in comfortable, suitable clothing. Some activities could get messy and might damage clothing. We suggest adequate clothing and sunscreen which protects the children from the all weathers. It’s advisable to bring spare clothes,
