RESPONDING TO GOD’S WORD
Affirmation of Faith Apostle’s Creed Hymn 881 I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth;
And in Jesus Christ his only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; the third day he rose from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic* church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Prayer of Confession Rev. Susan Galasso We have heard you calling us to life, O God, but are trapped in dark caverns of self-interest and doubt. We have received your invitation to the banquet for your saints but are distracted by many things— our hectic schedules, our preoccupation with the affairs of the world, our love for ourselves, instead of love for you and our neighbor. As we kneel before you, we ask that you renew our lives and wipe away our tears. We pray in the forgiving name of Jesus. Amen.
Words of Assurance Jesus said, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give water as a gift from the spring of the water of life.” In the name of the Alpha and Omega, your sins are forgiven. May you be renewed by the One who makes all things new.
Passing of the Peace (Congregation greets one another in the name of the Lord) Minister: The Peace of the Lord be always with you. People: And also with you.
Pastoral Prayers and The Lord’s Prayer Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Call to Worship for All Saints Day (Hebrews 12: 1) The COURSE has been laid out for us by the LORD. We do not get to choose the course, only how we will RUN the RACE. Though the course is already laid out for us, we are running it for the first time; therefore, there are SURPRISES. In this race there are no trial runs. The Lord Who laid out the course is the One that will give us the GRACE to run it SUCCESSFULLY. We have two great sources of encouragement: The LORD Himself Who is our great example and the HEROES OF FAITH that have gone before us. It is up to us to GET RID the hindrances, encumbrances and entanglements in our lives that slow us down and stand in our way. To run successfully our focus must be, not on the other runners or our current circumstances, but solely, completely and continually on JESUS, the Designer of the course the Author and finisher of our FAITH

Hymn of Praise Near to the Heart of God Hymn 472
1 There is a place of quiet rest, near to the heart of God; a place where sin cannot molest, near to the heart of God. Refrain: O Jesus, blest Redeemer, sent from the heart of God, hold us who wait before thee near to the heart of God. 2 There is a place of comfort sweet, near to the heart of God; a place where we our Savior meet, near to the heart of God. (Refrain) 3 There is place a place of full release, near to the heart of God; a place where all is joy and peace, near to the heart of God.
I will sing of my Redeemer, And His wondrous love to me; On the cruel cross He suffered, From the curse to set me free. Refrain: Sing, oh, sing of my Redeemer, With His blood He purchased me; On the cross He sealed my pardon, Paid the debt, and made me free. I will tell the wondrous story, How my lost estate to save, In His boundless love and mercy, He the ransom freely gave.
I will praise my dear Redeemer, His triumphant pow’r I’ll tell, How the victory He giveth Over sin, and death, and hell. I will sing of my Redeemer, And His heav’nly love to me; He from death to life hath brought me, Son of God with Him to be.
While life's dark maze I tread, and griefs around me spread, be thou my guide; bid darkness turn to day, wipe sorrow's tears away, nor let me ever stray from thee aside. When ends life's transient dream, when death's cold, sullen stream shall o'er me roll; blest Savior, then in love, fear and distrust remove; O bear me safe above,
My faith looks up to thee, thou Lamb of Calvary, Savior divine! Now hear me while I pray, take all my guilt away, O let me from this day be wholly thine! May thy rich grace impart strength to my fainting heart, my zeal inspire! As thou hast died for me, O may my love to thee pure, warm, and changeless be, a living fire!
