January 11, 2015 Collection The offertory for last weekend was: $2,612.33
“If you want to be great—wonderful. But recognize that he who is greatest among you shall be your serv-ant. That’s a new definition of greatness. By giving that definition of greatness, it means that everybody can be great, because everybody can serve. You only need a heart full of grace, a soul generated by
love.” —Martin Luther King Jr.
This week, in remembrance of the great civil-rights leader Martin Luther King Jr., try to perform an act of service that addresses inequality!
A good voca-on prayer to say every day –
from the me we are young unl we are in our golden years – is found in today’s first Scripture reading: “Speak LORD, for your servant is listening”. Just try it with sincerity, starng today, and if you think God is calling you to a Church vocaon, call Fr. Gary Dailey at 413 452-0816 or email: g.daileydiospringfield.org. Prayer of Intercession: That we may be a enve to the voice of God and follow in the steps of Jesus, we pray…

Community Impact
The Providence Ministries For the Needy thanks you for opening your hearts to those less fortunate. This past Christmas season, PMN provided a magical and joyous Christmas for over 498 neighborhood children and their families. Not only were toys distributed to the local chil-dren, but also warm coats, hats, and mittens to all. In addition, they were able to offer items to the men in shel-ter at the Loreto House, along with their children.
The Gray House would also like to extend their thanks. With your support, The Gray House was able to provide Christmas gifts to more than 450 children and each child received at least two gifts! On behalf of all the children who received a Christmas Gift, the Gray House would like to thank you for your thoughtfulness, compassion and joy that you gave this Christmas season!
Newman is always looking for musi-cians! Singers are welcome to join the Community Choir at 10:30 on Sunday mornings and/or the Student Choir at 7:00 on Sunday evenings during the school year. Rehearsals begin 45
minutes before the mass. Instrumentalists are also wel-come! We are specifically looking for a guitarist for the 7:00 and 9:30 student masses, and substitute pianists, but any and all instruments are welcome! If you have any questions or are interested in joining our music min-istry, please contact our Music Coordinator, Benjiman Durfee (ext. 36 or [email protected]).
There will be a Coffee Hour after the 10:30 mass on Sunday, February 1, in celebration of Bishop Rozanski’s visit. Please consider bringing food to share.
