CPAC Chairman Message

Dear Local Manufacturers, Contractors, and Vendors …

As part of KPC’s pioneer role in supporting the local economy, KPC has prepared its strategy until 2040 through

implementation of an ambitious and integrated program to maximize the Local Content in line with the vision of the State of

Kuwait for the Local Private Sector to be a leader of the economic development. In addition, KPC has assigned its subsidiaries

to implement twelve strategic initiatives to increase the Local Content.

The 1st Supplier Partnership Advisory Council (SPAC) was established in June 2009 as part of the “System for Encouraging the Local industry”

(2004) which is known today as “KPC Mechanism for Encouraging Local Content in The Oil Sector” (2017).

This Council was adopted by KPC and a number of its subsidiaries, to gather all related bodies in a cooperative framework and to open channels

for connection & discussion in a continuous & periodical manner to address issues & policies that increase the participation of the Local

Private Sector in the Oil Sector.

KNPC was sponsor and leader of KPC’s 2030 strategy - “Initiative A”, that pertain to “Preparing a framework to enhance cooperation between

Oil Sector, Governmental Bodies and the related Local Private Sector”. In light with the conclusions and recommendations of the approved

study KPC has issued decision 1/2016 for re-establishing the Consolidated Partnership Advisory Council (CPAC).

It is worth mentioning that we in KNPC are pleased to chair CPAC for 3 previous sessions Yrs (2009-2011), (2012-2014) & (2014-2016) and

continuing the works of the Secretariat of the Council during these rounds and the fourth round which was chaired for the first time by KOC

for the years (20172019) via KNPC Supplier service Center (SSC), which we are proud of.

The current CPAC for the years (2019-2021) is also chaired by KNPC. It consists of (23 members) from multiple sectors and bodies including

Oil Sector, Governmental and Non-Governmental Bodies; the Local Private Sector, plus a secretary form oil sector as (facilitator). The local

private sector is represented by multiple members each for a certain division including:

- Manufacturers.

- Consultants. - EPC Contractors.

- Maintenance & Services Contractors.

- Local Agents.

CPAC aims that the Oil Sector, Local Private Sector and Governmental & Non-governmental Bodies jointly seek to overcome the barriers and

difficulties faced when interacting with one another to reach a mutual understanding and a healthy relationship.

This Supplier electronic newsletter comes as an accomplishment from the previous Consolidated Partnership Advisory Councils and will be

our gateway to showcase the council’s journey and achievements. Through the newsletter, we hope to share all the latest updates and news,

which concerns the Private Local Sector.

We take this opportunity to encourage you to share your concerns and ideas with your council representative so that we may hear more from

you.

CPAC (2017-2019) Closing Ceremony held on 03/04/2019

Under patronage of Mr. Hashem S. Hashem - KPC CEO, KNPC Commercial department represented by

Suppliers Service Centre (SSC) and KOC Supplier Relationship Management had conducted the Fourth

Session of Partnership between Oil sector & Local Suppliers, Manufacturers and Contractors, the

ceremony carried out a sign The New Kuwait Will be Built Through our Partnership. The objectives of

the ceremony can be summarized as follow:

- Showcase Oil Sector partnership achievements towards local suppliers

- Present KOC perspectives and directions to enhance partnership

- Show KPC & its Subsidiaries commitment towards partnership

- Thank 2017-2019 CPAC members, secretariat team (KNPC & KOC) & select new CPAC members

2019-2021 to be chaired & secretariat by KNPC.
