    The FWC annually receives a portion

    of the proceeds from the CARL Trust

    Fund housed in the Departmentof Environmental Protection. The

    DEP trust fund receives its funding

    through a portion of documentary

    stamp excise taxes and excise taxes

    on phosphate rock mining. The

    FWC utilizes this funding for the

    management of conservation and

    recreation lands.

    FGTFFederal Grants Trust

    Fund

    A depository for grants from the

    federal government, interest earnings,

    and cash advances from other trust

    funds.

    GDTFGrants and Donations

    Trust Fund

    A depository for grants and donations

    from private and public non-federal

    sources, interest earnings, and cash

    advances from other trust funds.

    GRGeneral Revenue

    Income from various taxes and other

    sources used to support general state

    government operations.

    MRCTFMarine Resources

    Conservation Trust Fund

    Proceeds from shing license fees,

    registration of vessels, nes and

    penalties, marine turtle vehicle

    license plates, saltwater products

    licenses, and other sources. Funds

    are used to support marine research,shery enhancement, statistics

    development, articial reefs, law

    enforcement, license administration,

    shery management, and marine

    turtle protection, research, and

    recovery. Funds are used to support

    activities of the FWC, including

    research and monitoring at FWRI.

    MRCTF/Grants

    Include revenue from public or

    private sources such as federal grants,

    contracts, or private donations.

    Funds are used to support activities

    of the FWC, including research and

    monitoring at FWRI.

    NGWTFNongame Wildlife Trust

    FundFunding comes from grants,

    contracts, a $4 fee on each used car

    original title issued for a vehicle

    previously registered outside of the

    state, voluntary donations, and a

    scheduled amount from speeding

    nes. Funds are used for the purpose

    of documenting population trends of

    nongame wildlife; conducting habitat

    assessment; and establishing effective

    education, conservation, management

    and regulatory programs for nongame

    wildlife in the state.

    NGWTF/GrantsNongame

    Wildlife Trust Fund Grants

    Program

    An annual appropriation from the

    Nongame Wildlife Trust Fund used

    to fund research, education and

    management projects that support

    conservation of Floridas nongame

    wildlife species.

    PRTFFlorida Panter Researc

    and Management Trust Fund

    Funds derived from 85 percent of the

    proceeds from the issuance of Florida

    panther vehicle license plates and

    voluntary donations to the fund. The

    money is used for programs to protect,

    manage and enhance the Florida

    panther population and its associated

    habitat and to educate the public

    about the Florida panther and issues

    surrounding its survival in the wild.

    SGTFState Game Trust Fund

    Revenue is derived from state

    hunting and shing licenses and

    other associated permits and fees

    resulting from the administration of

    the laws pertaining to the regulation

    of the states sh and wildlife

    resources. Funds are used by FWC to

    fulll its state-mandated authority.

    EXPExpense

    Common and accepted costs to maintain

    FTEFull-Time Equivalent

    FTE positions are those authorized by

    the legislature for an established work

    period, usually a 40-hour workweek.

    These positions provide state insurance

    and retirement benets.

    OCAOperational Cost Assessment

    OCA funds are used to support day-

    to-day operational expenses and

    administrative support, commonly

    referred to as overhead. It is assessed

    against incoming grants and other

    appropriate revenue sources.

    OCOOperating Capital Outlay

    Used to purchase equipment, xtures,

    vehicles, boats, motors, trailers, and

    other items that cost more than $1,000

    and normally have an expected life

    of greater than one year. OCO is also

    used to purchase hard-cover bound

    books costing $250 or more that have an

    expected useful life of greater than one

    year.

    OPSOter Personal Services

    OPS funds are compensation for

    services rendered by a person who is not

    a regular or full-time employee lling

    an established position. This service

    often includes temporary employees,

    students or graduate assistants, persons

    on fellowships, part-time academicemployees, and consultants under

    contract to FWC. These positions do not

    provide state insurance and retirement

    benets.

    Special Categories

    These are funds obtained for special

    projects, insurance, and human resource

    outsourcing for the following: DMS(Department of Management Services)

    human resources contract, FCO (Fixed

    Capital Outlay), Grounding Funding,

    Manatee Avoidance Technology, and

    Risk Management Insurance.
