This event has been specifically designed for the owners and managers of SME businesses who extensively use digital services, or supply them. Expert speakers will explain what superfast broadband will mean to the county, what it means to your business model, the opportunities that will arise and the threats you could face as the power of technology is unleashed across the county. What areas will the event cover? Ranulf Scarbrough, BT, will explain superfast broadband in Cornwall, providing a definition, specification, roll-out schedule, local variations to service and national and international comparisons. Ian Osborne, Director, Digital Systems Knowledge Transfer Network, will explore broadband business models, including Cloud Computing, Software as a Service and other concepts. John Seton, BT, will discuss what can be enabled by superfast broadband, including opportunities, threats and technical aspects. Richard Wyatt-Haines, author of ‘Align IT: Business Impact Through IT’, maximising the competitiveness of organisations through the combined use of IT and people. Richard will ask “Now that you have a new infrastructure, what are you going to do with it?” and explore what superfast broadband will mean to the way you compete and run your business.
