Communication: Audience and Context (PLNG002)In this unit, learners are equipped with strong oralpersuasive skills to communicate with confidence theirviews and opinions. The topics in this subject include basicarithmetic, fractions, decimals and percentages, rates,ratio, proportion, simple interest, compound interest aswellasgrowthanddecay.Techniquestosolvingalgebra,linearandsimultaneousequationsandplottingofgraphswithoptimisationwillbecovered.Thesetopicswillprovidestudentswithasoundbasisforlaterworkinmathematics,statisticsorrelatedsubjectareas.
Mathematical Techniques and Analysis (PMTH002)Thisunitwillteachstudentstopresentfigurescollectedintoappropriate tables and graphs. The topics in this unit alsoinclude data analysis to determine measures of location,centraltendencydrawingofboxplotsandskewness.Thisunitwill provideworking knowledge of the use of sets, list andgrids, two-way tablesand treediagramtechniques to solveproblems in probability. These topics will provide studentswithasoundbasisforlaterworkinmathematicsandsubjectsinrelateddisciplines.
Statistical Techniques (PMTH003)This unit will teach students skills to make inferences andpredictionsusingsuitablestatisticaltechniques.Studentswilllearntodrawconclusionsfrommeasuresofcentraltendencyand dispersion data. This unit also includes bivariatestatisticswhereby studentswill learnhow todetermine thecorrelation coefficientof apair of variables and toperformpredictionbasedonthelineofbestfit.ThisunitalsoincludetheunderstandingandapplicationofBinomial,PoissonandNormaldistributions.
Contemporary Creative Expressions - Film as Art (PCCE001)Thisunithelpsstudentstomastertheskillsoffilmappreciationby teaching them to analyse and appreciate classic andcontemporaryfilms.Studentsshallbecomeinformedviewersbyunderstandingkeyvocabularyandconceptsoffilmforms,techniques,andhistory.Studyingfilmisnotjustaboutlearningthe facts; it’s also about the skills of reading and analysingfilms from different perspectives bywatching and listeningclosely. Studentswill understand the creatives choices thatfilmmakers make and the effect films have on individualviewersandtheirabilitytoreflectculture.

Introduction to Accounting Techniques (PACT001)This unit introduces the fundamental of accountingconcepts and principles that would be applied in thebusiness environment. It emphasises the importancetoorganizeandsummarisebusinessdata.Thecontentwill then proceed to the basic preparation of financialstatementsfortheinterestoffinancialinformationusers.
Accounting Processes and Reports (PACT002)This unit provides studentswith further understandingon various types of business reports. Starting fromsole trade type of business, partnership to companies’accounts. It includes the preparation of the financialstatements with appropriate year-end adjustments. Itaccentuatesontheimportanceofaccountingasameansofcommunicatingbusinessinformationtostakeholdersyieldtohelpdecisionmaking.
Introduction to Business: World of Finance (PIB(F)001)This unit introduces the importance of managingfinancial informationwithin thebusiness. Itemphasisesonsourcesoffinanceavailableforthebusinessaswellasbasicfinancialplanthatwouldbeappliedinthebusinessenvironment.Thisunitalsoaimstoanalysethefinancialinformation and its results for investment decisionmaking.
Microeconomics- Concepts and Models (PECO001)Thisunitinvestigatesthechoicesthatpeople,groupsandsocietiesfaceastheyconfronttheproblemofsatisfyingtheirunlimitedwantsandlimitedresources.Thisunitaimstoanalyseandunderstandtheallocation,utilisationanddistributionofscareresourcesthatdetermineourwealthandwell-being.Itdevelopstheknowledge,reasoningandinterpretationskills that forman importantcomponentof understanding personal, business and governmentbehaviouratthelocal,nationalandgloballevels.
Macroeconomics – The Global View (PECO002)Thedisciplineofeconomicsisoneoftheparticularrelevancein the world today. The syllabus focuses on the fundamentals ofJava programming which equips students with theunderstanding about programming concepts.
