Over the years it had gone through several renovations, all with a Jeffersonian theme. Now renovated by Larkspur Hotels & Restaurants LLC in an ‘Urban Edgy’ theme, all existing rooms were gutted and reconfigured with new lobby space, guest registration area, furniture, fixtures, finishes, appliances, and window treatments. A total of 56 guestrooms were renovated. A state-of-the-art data transfer, internet and television system was installed including multiple Cat 5e drops per room. The 1908 elevator cab was renovated as well as the hoist way. Prior to the renovation, a new seismic restraining system was installed to improve the stability of this five story unreinforced masonary structure. The exterior historic windows were fitted with insulated glass to reduce noise and save energy.
