Bible Study with Pastor Scott: This fall we will have a Jesus 101 class- which is part Bible Study part lecture about the life of Jesus. Look forward to a great time as you are trying to learn more about the basics of Christianity each Tuesday from 7:00 pm -8:30 pm in the music room now through November 22nd.

Blood Drive: You Can Make A Difference! Our next Blood Drive is being held on Tuesday, October 18, 3:OO-7:OO p.m. One unit of blood helps 3 people. More than 4.5 million patients need blood transfusions each year in the U.S. and Canada. Someone needs blood every 2 seconds: 38,OOO pints of donated blood is used every day. Blood can be donated every 8 weeks. Come and see how easy and safe it is to become a lifesaver at our next Blood Drive!

Pads-Volunteers Still Needed for October: We had a successful first night at Pads with 41 overnight guests and we distributed 65 servings of food. A BIG THANK YOU to everyone who signed up last Sunday to provide food or do shifts. I didn’t have to do any double shifts! I have all the food I need. I still need one volunteer for each of the following shifts except where there is a 2. Oct. 10 (6-8:30pm) (11pm-3am) (3-7am): Oct. 17 (11pm-3am) (5:30-7am): Oct. 24 (8:30-11pm): Oct. 31 2 for(6-8:30pm) (11pm-3am) (3-7am) 2 for (5:30-7am). New Fellowship Opportunity - Monthly Lunch Bunch: Join us for this new fellowship event. The Lunch Bunch will meet on the first Wednesday of each month at 11:30 am at Papa Passero's, 6326 S. Cass Ave, Westmont. The first lunch will be on November 2. This is a fellowship only event, no programs. Come and leave as you need to. All ages welcome. Women's Fellowship (Ladies of the Morning and evening) ) All women are always welcome at any of our events. Invite a friend or new member. We will stay at the church for Stitch and Chat in the Parlor Friday, October 21 from 9:30 am to 11:30 am. If you don't have anything to stitch, feel free to come and hang out just for the chat! Cherub Choir rehearsals: start this Sunday, 10/9 at 10:30 in the Sunday School room 203. Children four years old through kindergarten are welcome. If your three year old likes singing and you'd like to try having him/her join us that's fine with me. We will be singing the Sunday before Thanksgiving, 11/20. Caring for Creation: Monarch Butterfly populations in the United States have been declining for the past 20 years, partially due to lack of habitat. Milkweed plants are disappearing (their leaves are the only food the baby caterpillars can eat). You can help save our state insect! The State of Illinois is making available Monarch license plates, and all proceeds will go toward planting milkweed along our state highways. (What a good use for otherwise wasted space.) Find more information, forms and free milkweed seeds in Fellowship Hall in October.
