KNIGHTLY NEWS

We are so pleased to advise that the recent Tootsie Roll Drive raised almost $2,100.  This is the largest amount we have ever collected, and the proceeds will benefit the St. Andrew Academy.  This new local academy will train young adults with special needs for positions in the IT Cyber Security field.  The overwhelming support of our very generous parishioners never ceases to amaze us.  Thank you !!!!   For more information about the Academy visit: www.standrewacademy.org or contact Pat Romzek at [email protected].

In today’s Gospel (Matthew 25: 1-13), Jesus challenges us to “stay awake” by taking time to seriously look at ourselves, the priorities of our lives, and how we are growing spiritually.

Today’s gospel suggests that our waiting and watching must also include seeking … we must go out to meet Jesus. Are we waiting and keeping vigil without seeking Jesus? Are we living our daily lives without paying attention to the times when God breaks in upon us? Do we close our eyes to the need of another, keep ourselves so frenetic with activity that we never take time to look seriously at ourselves, our lives’ priorities and how we are (or are not) growing spiritually? Seeking while waiting prepares us for his coming by helping us see all the little decisions in our everyday lives as directly related to our being ready, the door being open, and our going into the feast. (Living Liturgy, p.272)
