Join top professional cyclists, amateurs, and kids from the community as they race along an 0.8-mile course through downtown Dana Point.
COURSE: .8 mile L-shaped, flat fast and furious through downtown Dana Point and Heritage Park overlooking beautiful Dana Point Harbor. Long and straight final sprint to Heritage Park.
DIRECTIONS: Easy to locate. From I-5 freeway, exit Beach Cities HWY 1 (PCH) North. Proceed on 1 PCH past Golden Lantern. Parking is within the downtown area, please see, www.danapointgrandprix.com for detailed parking map and instructions. Course is located on South bound lane of Del Prado (PCH South) between Old Golden Lantern and Amber Lantern.
ENTRIES: Online registration at www.socalreg.com until 11:59 pm Friday April 24. Day of registration add $7. Extra races add $20 (after you have paid the highest entry fee). Postal mail must be postmarked by April 20 2009. Make checks payable to: Dana Point Community Cycling Foundation, 24843 Del Prado #513 Dana Point, Ca. 92629. Full technical & wheel support provided by SHIMANO, after turn #1.
RULES: All USAC rules apply. HELMET MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES. Please respect the NO riding zone within the expo area. Warm-up on PCH or the beautiful Dana Point Harbor Dr, below the race course, access Golden Lantern.
FAN ZONE: Located within the race course, enjoy live music, food, fun and plenty of cool stuff to experience like the Rolling O provided by Oakley. Shimano Youth Series races begin at approximately 11:00 am, bring your children, bikes and cameras!!!
