LA MATANZA PROGRAMME SATURDAY 6th FEBRUARY 9.30 h.- Opening of the marquee installed in the Fairground, where this event will be held. Exhibition of historical tools related to the Matanza and photographs of the traditional Fiesta de la Matanza in Alhama. From 10 am you can see the quartering of the pig and the elaboration of cold meats: sausages, black pudding and “fritá” (fried pork liver and tripe), etc. 11.00 h.- “Tour the Museum”, free guided visit to the Archaeological Museum Los Baños in Spanish. Limited capacity. Inscriptions at the Tourist Office, Archaeological Museum and the website www.turismo.alhamademurcia.es / Tu visita guiada gratis. 11.00 h.- Inauguration of the “Exhibition of historical tools related to the Matanza and photographs of the traditional Fiesta de la Matanza in Alhama”. With the presence of Diego A. Conesa Alcaraz (Mayor of Alhama de Murcia). 11.30 h.- Conference “The Fiesta de la Matanza and the traditional role of the pork in Alhama de Murcia”. Speakers: Diego Conesa Alcaraz (Mayor of Alhama de Murcia) and Francisco Rubio Munuera (promoter of the Fiesta). Delivery of “La Manita Dorada” award. On Saturday all day and Sunday in the morning, information on the Fiesta de la Matanza and the Gastronomic Tour will be provided by the Department of Festivities in the Fairground Marquee. Moreover, the Tourist Office will be open on Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 2 pm.
