  • Welcome & Introduction

Opening Song: I, the Lord of sea and skyI, the Lord of sea and sky,

I have heard my people cry.All who dwell in dark and sin

my hand will save.I who made the stars of night,

I will make their darkness bright.Who will bear my light to them?

    Whom shall I send?

Refrain : Here I am, Lord. Is it I, Lord?

I have heard you calling in the night.I will go Lord, if you lead me.

I will hold your people in my heart.

I, the Lord of snow and rain,I have borne my people’s pain.I have wept for love of them.

They turn away.I will break their hearts of stone, give them hearts for love alone.

I will speak my work to them.Whom shall I send?

    Refrain.

I, the Lord of wind and flame.I will tend the poor and lame.

I will set a feast for them.My hand will save.

Finest bread I will providetill their hearts be satisfied.I will give my life to them.

    Whom shall I send?

    Refrain.

  • Prayer

Reading: The Work of Christmas“When the song of the angels is stilled,

When the star in the sky is gone,When the kings and princes are home,

When the shepherds are back with their flock,The work of Christmas begins:-

To find the lost,To heal the broken,To feed the hungry,

To release the prisoner,To rebuild and bring peace among nations,

To make music in the heart.

So, may the Work of Christmas begin this night in our hearts:-that we may be instruments of peace and light.

    Where there is hatred, may we bring love;Where there is injury, pardon;

    Where there is doubt, faith;Where there is sadness, joy;

And where there is darkness, may we see the light:-The light and comfort that Christmas brings.”

  • Prayer for Peace

Make me a channel of your peaceMake me a channel of your peace.

Where there is hatred, let me bring your love.Where there is injury, your pardon, Lord.

And where there’s doubt, true faith in you.

Make me a channel of your peace.Where there’s despair in life,

let me bring hope.Where there is darkness only light, and where there’s sadness ever joy.

Oh, Master, grant that I may never seek so much to be consoled as to console,

to be understood as to understand, to be loved, as to love, with all my soul.

Make me a channel of your peace. It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,

in giving to all men that we receive, and in dying that we’re born to eternal life.

    Lighting the Christmas Tree

    Amazing Grace Piper: Greg Stewart

Amazing grace! How sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me.

I once was lost, but now I’m found, was blind, but now I see.

‘Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, and grace my fears relieved.

How precious did that grace appear the hour I first believed.

Through many dangers, toils and snares I have already come.

‘Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far, and grace will lead me home.

The Lord has promised good to me; his word my hope secures.

He will my shield and portion be as long as life endures.

    A Christmas Message

Song: City of GodAwake from your slumber.

Arise from your sleep.A new day is dawning for all those who weep. The people in darkness have seen a great light.

The Lord of our longing has conquered the night.

Refrain :Let us build the city of God.

May our tears be turned into dancing. For the Lord, our light and our love,

Has turned the night into day.

    6

  • We are sons of the morning; We are daughters of day.

The One who has loved us has brightened our way. The Lord of all kindness has called us to be,A light for His people to set their hearts free.

    Refrain.

God is light; In Him there is no darkness.

    Let us walk in His light,His children one and all.O comfort my people;

Make gentle your words.Proclaim to My city,The day of her birth.

    Refrain.

O city of gladness,Now lift up your voice.

Proclaim the good tidings,That all may rejoice.

    Refrain.
