ChristmasChristmas traditions arent
changing much over the years, anew poll released hursday sug-gests.
Most Canadians still plan to dec-orate their houses and eat a roastturkey for dinner, according to asurvey of 1,505 Canadians, con-ducted by Abacus Data this week for QMI Agency.
Most Canadians are still very traditional when it comes toChristmas, although the majority arent celebrating it as a religiousholiday, Abacus Data CEO DavidColetto said.
Of the 1,346 people surveyed who said they planned to celebrateChristmas, 41% said they celebrateit as a religious holiday, with 50%celebrating it as a secular holiday and 9% unsure.
More than three-quarters of those celebrating Christmas planto decorate their houses, and are
most likely to roast a Christmasturkey to mark the occasion.
An ot he r thi ng th at ha sn tbudged much over the years, evenas the countrys ethnic makeupcontinues to change, is the way wegreet each other over the holidays.
Merry Christmas is still thepreferred expression to greet peo-ple over the course of the season.
