amdapha National Park is the

largest protected area in the

Eastern Himalaya biodiversity

hotspot and is located in Arunachal

Pradesh in Northeast India. It is also the

largest national park in India in terms of

area.

It spans an area of 1985 km2 with 177 km2

in buffer zone and 1808 km2 in the core

area. The park is located between the

Dapha bum range of the Mishmi Hills and

the Patkai range with a wide altitudinal

range between 200 m and 4,571 m.

The park has one of the largest untouched

areas of prime rainforest in the Indian

subcontinent. The lush green valleys are

home to several endangered species of

flora and fauna. Namdapha is the only park

in India, and probably the world, with four

large cat species – tiger, leopard, clouded

leopard and snow leopard.

The thick forests are bronken only by azure

rivers meandering through the mist laden

landscape. The park is home to two main

rivers - the Noa-dihing and the Namdapha

and several other smaller rivulets that feed

these rivers.

Come to Namdapha. Come to a lost world.

FAQ

Q: What does the price include?

A: The price includes:

Transportation

Vegetarian food (Breakfast,

Lunch, Dinner)

Guide charges

Equipment – Sleeping bags, mats

and tents

Permits

Porter charges

Q: Who can do this trek?

A: This is an easy- moderate trek. You

must have the capacity to walk 5 hours

a day. You should have the strength of

a donkey to carry a rucksack of 8 kg for

5-7 hours a day.

Q: What should I carry?

A: The following items are a must:

2 liter water bottle (with water)

A sun hat and sun shades

Good trekking shoes – Not your

regular Nike, Puma, Adidas,

Reebok. You don’t want to be

trekking with blisters on your

feet. Ouch! Ask us, we can help

you pick a good pair.

A toilet kit

1 torch with spare batteries

Loads of enthusiasm

A good rucksack

Q: What NOT to do?

A: Our treks are of course fun, but we

have fun responsibly. We are sensitive

to the environment – no littering. We

also enjoy the silence and therefore we

do not shout and scare away the birds

and animals. Remember, this is not

tourism – we are passionate trekkers

and we want to keep coming back.

Q: What food do you provide?

A: Simple vegetarian food. Nothing

extravagant, nor will you sleep with

empty stomachs. You will be hungry

and anything served will taste gourmet.

Q: How can I prepare myself?

A: Take daily jogs or walks. Hit the

gym or even better do some smaller

Western Ghats treks with us.

Q: Do I need any medical preparation?

A: You need an anti-malaria

vaccination from your nearest clinic or

hospital before the journey. The forests

are alive with mosquitoes that are

waiting for city blood!
