A Month in Review A Month in Review The month of November began with a beautiful remembrance of those we have lost in the past year. The All-Saint’s Day service is always a way to celebrate the life of Summit Square Residents. We were given the privilege to enjoy musical performances including a sold out show to “My Fair Lady”, Schola Cantorum of Waynesboro, and Gail Epps giving us a taste of some good ole folk music. We want to thank everyone for braving the chilly weather to join us for some kettle corn, chili and cornbread during our Fall Carnival! Pat Cantrell and High Country sang their hearts out during this celebration and there were quite a few local first responders who came out so that we could show our appreciation for everything they do, not only for Summit Square, but for the City of Waynesboro. Oh, and who can forget our trek to Short Pump for a mystery lunch with a mystery guest? Elizabeth Witmer joined us for our food and shopping excursion. Can’t wait for next month! Page 4: Summit THE - Sunnyside · story through the eyes of Joseph. Author/pastor, Adam Hamilton, has written an intriguing study called Faithful. Hamilton writes, “From his beginnings

During the four weeks of Advent, we

are called to prepare ourselves for the birth

of the Christ-child. This year we will have two

resources available to celebrate Advent, 2017.

Bible Study: If you think you know the story of Jesus’

birth, think again! We will be looking at the Christmas

story through the eyes of Joseph. Author/pastor, Adam

Hamilton, has written an intriguing study called Faithful.

Hamilton writes, “From his beginnings as a humble

carpenter to his all-important role as the earthly father of

Jesus Christ, Joseph’s place in the Nativity story is

sometimes overlooked. But Joseph’s life contains valuable

lessons for all of us. His courageous actions were crucial to

the birth of Christ and God’s salvation plan for humanity.”

Join me each Tuesday at 10:00 in the Wellness Center

Conference Room for our Advent bible study. Books are

available for purchase in my office for $13.50. A copy will

be provided in the library for your convenience.

Daily Devotionals: Grab your own free copy of the

devotional booklets available for daily readings during the

Advent Season. This resource will help us focus on the true

meaning of the Christmas Season with short excerpts of

scripture, a thoughtful meditation and a daily prayer. Take

the few minutes to start your day off right!
