Come join us for a week filled with explorations of life on the farm. Well investigate the life of

farmers, their animals (large and small) while crafting our own farm experiences. Old shoes

Return to Anne Springs Close Greenway for a sequel of Close To Nature Camp. We will take the

Close to Nature, conducted on the Anne Springs Close Greenway, is an exciting place for your

youngster to learn about nature and the great outdoors. Campers will be instructed and

participate in canoeing, kayaking, camping skills, nature crafts, campfire, archery, hiking and

more. Our staff is well trained and motivated to provide the best possible camp experience foryour child. Each child is to bring their own lunch. A beverage is available each day. Camp

Come along and really explore the secret world of trees, wild flowers, Greenway animals, and

insects. An experienced and knowledgeable preschool staff will lead the preschoolers through

hands on projects, crafts and related stories. We will meet at the Nature Center on the Anne

Springs Close Greenway and will spend most of our time outdoors exploring the natural habitat.

Camp is open to children who will be entering Kindergarten or 1st Grade in August 2012.

Camp activities will cover grooming, feeding and care of horses; riding instruction and

GIZMOS & GADGETS, GOING GREEN ON THE GREENWAY Ages: 5 & 6Well experience nature and how important it is for us to go green. Building our own gizmos

and gadgets from recycled materials will give us plenty of ideas for a green environment. Old

shoes and clothes should be worn daily as we will be messy this week. Hikes and the creek

will be included in our weekly activities.



MOUNTAIN BIKE CAMP Ages: 9-14

Come join the new era. Learn new technical riding skills or just gain more confidence on thebike while riding trails. Mountain biking is a sport where self-esteem is gained and adrenalin

runs free. These camps are geared for boys and girls between the ages of 9-14. Your child must

already know how to ride a bike. Camp will run Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Tuesdayand Wednesday camp will run 9:00am-1:00, Thursday camp will run from 9:00am 5:00pm

with your child bringing his/her bathing suit, towel and for well bike to the Recreation Complex,

swim and return. Campers need to bring a bag lunch each day. Campers will be dropped off

and picked up at the Field Trial Barn, located on Springfield Parkway.

BROADWAY BOUND Ages 10-13This is a dance intensive for our junior dancers that wish to continue their practice over the

Hosted by Total Golf Adventures (TGA), this unique golf camp will teach the proper golf set-up,swing fundamentals, and basic etiquette of the game in a fun and enjoyable environment. In

addition, our Play the Fair Way with TGA Character Development Initiative ensures thatstudents learn values in TGAs program that will positively impact their lives on and off the

MAD SCIENCE: RADICAL ROBOTS New Content! Ages 8-12

From sound sensing to complex, programmable robots, this camp will teach engineers-in-training how robots work and how they are used in the world around them. Campers will

discover the science of electronic circuits and how robots use sensors to control their

movements and explore their environment. They will work together to build a life size kineticsrobot to help understand the insides of a robot. Young scientists will get creative when

building a model robot and construct their own working robot to take home and show off to

their friends and family!



MAD SCIENCE: DESTINATION EARTH! NEW! Ages 6-11

In this new camp, children will have fun with hands-on experiments that will increase their

understanding of our good ship Earthfrom its atmosphere down to its molten core! They will

create tremors and measure the results with tools similar to those used by real scientists while

they discover why we have earthquakes and tsunamis! Campers will learn how animals are

camouflaged and go on the hunt for scents and tracks, and study the dietary habits of large

MAD SCIENCE: ROARING ROCKETS! New Content! Ages 7-11This action packed week will focus solely on rockets and the physics of rocket flight. Young

rocket scientists will build multiple designs and participate in daily launches. After learning themodel rocket safety code, they will prepare for launches, perform the role of altitude trackers

and launch rockets propelled by water and solid fuel engines. Hands-on activities will get their

creative juices flowing when they test the laws of physics that keep rockets in space, build a

simple telescope and a model of Saturn. HoustonWe have lift-off!

with the principles of flight! Campers will construct different airplanes then test their designs ina wind tunnel. Over the course of the week, junior test pilots will launch a variety of flying

machines including; balloon copters, a hovercraft, paper airplanes, kites, Frisbees, parachutes,

MINI ART CAMP Ages: 6-12

Join us this summer for art classes with Jett Buskirk. Learn basic elements and principles ofdesign while exploring various styles of arts and crafts. Classes held Monday, Wednesday and

Friday mornings for two one-week sessions. Children who sign up for both camps will be

making brand new projects during the second session. Most supplies are provided.

There is a $7 supply fee for paint brushes, markers and glue (items to take home)

We are docking our pirate ship at Ann Springs Complex July - in search of new treasure. While

ashore we will be learning new pirate dances with lots of leaps and cartwheels! We will bemaking new swords, decorating our hats, and searching for treasure! At the end of the week

READING GIRAFFE Ages 3-5

Children like to read its just a part of being a kid! But they LOVE to read when stories cometo life! Our campers will EXPERIENCE some of the most creative and fun childrens books,

combining the classics with present-day favorites. But reading is just the beginning We make

each book a hands-on, interactive adventure, as Reading Giraffe includes role-playing, arts and

crafts and high-energy games and activities built around our books themes and characters.

SUPER K KIDS DAY CAMP Ages: 5 & 6

Weekly camps are designed for super enthusiastic four, five and six year olds. Give your child

the opportunity to learn and have fun all at the same time. Camp includes arts, crafts, gymactivities, swimming and games. Each child needs to bring a nutritious snack lunch and a swim

bag containing a towel. PLEASE wear swim suit under clothes. Limit 16 children. Contact

TANGLED CAMP Ages 4-8

Each day campers will explore the story of new fairytale Tangled and the classic story ofRapunzel. We will learn new dances, make costumes and hair pieces. We will attend CPCC's

summer performance of Rapunzel (two tickets included) on one of our camp days.

TEEN INTENSIVE DANCE CAMP Ages 14-18This is a dance intensive for our dancers that wish to continue their practice over the summer.

Each day we will begin with a thorough warm up. Our day will be spent focusing onstrengthening muscles, perfecting alignment, learning technique, and exploring different styles

of dance. We will have 2-3 classes in different subjects each day. Guest artists will be brought

in to teach different genres. Eligible students must be able to execute a pirouette, Chane turns,

Grand jete, Time steps, Cincinnati, and attend at least 2 hours of dance per week. Exceptions

may be made in regard to age limitations. Those exceptions are left solely up to the instructors:

CAMPS AT SPRINGMAID MOUNTAIN!

BEYOND THE CAMPFIRE Ages: 8-14

Revamped, innovated and inspiring, Beyond the Campfire is a one week summer resident campat Springmaid Mountain. Located in Spruce Pine, North Carolina, Beyond the Campfire is a

picturesque and unique setting for summer camp. Experience outdoor education, enrichmentand loads of laughter for boys and girls with programs ranging from hikes, camp fire building,

themed meals, team building, archery, fishing (catch & release), crafts, tubing on the Toe

River, camp songs, flag ceremony, swimming and more. A deposit of $100 must be paid when

registering. Parents are responsible for transportation. Remaining balance is due June 15.

HORSE CAMP AT SPRINGMAID MOUNTAIN Ages: 9-14Horse Camp was established by enthusiasts for boys and girls who love horses and riding.

Lessons are based on current skill levels with graduated steps to promote self-esteem andconfidence. There is limited space for true beginners (who have never ridden a horse). Camp

will also include tubing, fishing, hiking, swimming, and crafts. Camp is held on a mountain topin Spruce Pine, NC, home of Springmaid Mountain, where the summer is cool and the fun is

too. Parents are responsible for transportation. Space is limited. A deposit of $100 must be

paid when registering. Remaining balance is due June 15.

PAYMENT AND CANCELLATION POLICY FOR CAMPS

Reservations for camps are made in person at the Recreation Complex on the Greenway. Full

payment is due at the time of application by cash, check, or credit card. Checks should be

made payable to Leroy Springs & Co., Inc. (LSC) or Anne Springs Close Greenway (ASCG).

There is a $30 fee (or maximum allowed) on all returned checks.

Cancellations made prior to the start of camp will receive a refund minus a $25cancellation fee.

Transfers from one camp to another (with the exception of FLYERS) may be done two weeks inadvance with a $9 Service Fee. FLYERS Summer Sessions, Equestrian Day Camp and

Springmaid Mountain Camps have a non-refundable $25 deposit for each registered session.

Once camp has begun, no refunds are available for any reason. Registration is on a first come,

first served basis. To receive the member rate, memberships with the Complex must stay

current through the completion of camp.
