Gardening Scotland 2016 We had a wonderful me at Gardening Scotland this year. Thanks to all our projects who helped to make our stand so aracve. Flowers from Amisfield walled garden, bug hotels and mosaics from Parklea, Branching Out, recycled herb containers from South Lanarkshire College, wildflower photographs from Craighall (Saughton Park group), wooden egg boxes from Green Routes, alpine troughs from Turning Point, and quirky planters with seasonal flowers from Fortune Works, what a display! Gardening Scotland 2016We had a wonderful time at Gardening Scotland this year. Thanks to all our projects who helped to make our

stand so attractive. Flowers from Amisfield walled garden, bug hotels and mosaics from Parklea, Branching Out,

recycled herb containers from South Lanarkshire College, wildflower photographs from Craighall (Saughton Park

group), wooden egg boxes from Green Routes, alpine troughs from Turning Point, and quirky planters with

Over the weekend, many of our participants shared

their skills with visitors to the show.

Green RoutesDemonstrated sowing seeds and making

recycled pots from newspaper.

Awards presented

Well done Shane Gavin from Ochil Tower School who completed his

Grow and Learn ‘Roots’ Award this summer. Hope to see you Shane at

our Awards Ceremony on the 30th September.

Summer registrations

A warm welcome to the Grow and Learn network to those projects who have recently registered this

summer. We look forward to hearing all your news in due course. Bridgend, Teen Plus Edinburgh, PLANT

Tayside, Help Yourself Grow Glasgow, Ellon Academy Aberdeen and Breaking Ground Ayrshire.

Staff news

Welcome to Michelle McGuire who will join our team of verifiers covering the west of Scotland. Siobhan

McGuinness who for some time now has covered the Fife area has decided to step down from this role.

Thank you Siobhan for all your support and commitment to Grow and Learn, we will miss you. Siobhan has

kindly agreed to be the main contact for our Fife projects until we find a new verifier.

On Saturday 9 July, we had our Grow and Learn stand at the

RBGE event, Gardeners Question Time. Despite the photo...

there were in fact lots of people there soaking up the

atmosphere, finding out about The CALEY, Grow and Learn

before heading off to enjoy the recording of the live

show.
