Mas- ter, you handle it.I have been in a lot of circumstances where I did not know exactly how to pray. When I dont know what to say, I have found this little prayer helpful. Dear Lord, we place this situation or person in your hands trusting in your goodness and your mercy. And so today, I pray for you. Dear Lord, I place this reader in your hands trusting in your goodness and your mercy. Amen.In Christ, Pastor Jame Note: This is one of my daily devotions. We provide sandwiches Mon- day thru Friday at our church for the children who can come here. Two days a week, we take sandwiches to the Housing Project and Blue Sky as well as Bath and Kilbourne. We also distribute sack lunches for the children to eat on the days we are not there. We have developed a wonderful working relationship with the Ridge Church. We have received $490 in offerings. Marlene Izard has organized our church and our children and youth to distribute collection containers throughout our community. A Note from the Pastor By Rev. Dr. Jame Hahs

We saw that we weren’t making even a dent in his resolve, and gave up. “It’s in God’s hands now,” we said. “Master, you han-dle it.” (Acts 21:14) Paul was determined to go to Jerusalem. No words or prayers dissuaded him—”we weren’t making even a dent.” Since they

didn’t know what to pray now they gave up and prayed: “It’s in God’s hands now. Mas-ter, you handle it.” I have been in a lot of circumstances where I did not know exactly how to pray. When I don’t know what to say, I have found this little prayer helpful. “Dear Lord, we place this situation or person in your hands trusting in your goodness and your mercy.” And so today, I pray for you. “Dear Lord, I place this reader in your hands trusting in your goodness and your mercy. Amen.” In Christ, Pastor Jame Note: This is one of my daily devotions. If you would like to receive my “almost” daily devotions, email me at [email protected]

Thank you Dear Friends in Christ, Thank you for your most recent $298.27 gift, which we received through our IGRC Treasurer. On behalf of your Chaddock children and their families, thank you for your prayerful support. Through the years, faithful gifts from United Methodists like all of you have provided a caring, safe haven for thousands of Chaddock children. You’ve helped us give them strength and hope when they needed it most. You’ve shown our Chaddock children that you have faith in them, even when they didn’t see it within themselves. Jeff VanCamp Executive Director Chaddock Children’s Foundation (Chaddock was the March children’s noisy offering.)

Promotion and Teacher Recognition

Sunday Promotion and Teacher Recognition Sunday will be held on Sunday, August 18th. During the 10:30 a.m. worship service we will promote those children attending Sunday School to their next grade and a Bible will be given to those entering 3rd grade. Those with “near-perfect”

attendance will receive the appropriate pin for the number of years they have received the Attendance Award. In addition to recognizing our children we will honor our Sunday School Teachers who generously give of their time and energy throughout the year to help our children, youth and adults grow in their knowledge of Jesus Christ. If you have a child entering the third grade this fall, please call the church office (543-4725) so we can prepare for the right number of children to receive a Bible. Thank you!

It’s Not Supposed to be

This Way Lysa Terkeurst Bible Study invites us into her own journey of faith and, with grit vulnerability, and honest humor, helps us to see our lives in the context of God’s bigger story. Whether we’re dealing with daily disappointments or life altering loss, we can find unexpected strength as we learn what it means to wrestle well between our faith and our feelings. We will meet in the Conference Room on Tuesday evenings, September 2, 10, 17, October 1, 8, & 15 at 7:00 p.m. Study will be led by Melissa Zurheide. Any questions may be directed to Julia Pryor (309-338-2781). Thank you!
