review meeting and monthly schedule is prepared according to
that.
• Status is updated on weekly basis to keep track of the work

– Extension of Bars
– Providing Stirrups
– Binding of stirrups to the vertical bars.
• All column reinforcement shall be embedded minimum Ld from the floor level.
• Lap length shall be calculated on the basis of diameters of smaller bar.
• Fe 500 should be used conforming to IS-1786
• The stirrups dia vary from 8mm to 12mm conforming to specification mentioned in the drawing.
• Also the spacing between the stirrups should also be as per the drawing.
• In lap portion the spacing of stirrups shall be 150mm C/C.
![Page 16: Summer Internship in Jaypee Group](https://reader033.fdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022051318/58ec8de41a28abe8778b4661/html5/thumbnails/16.jpg)
Shuttering/Formwork of Column & slab
• For placing the shuttering properly as per the drawing to avoid any deviations either T point are used or marking are on the starter in (X,Y) direction.
• The shuttering used in this project was from pranav.
• Stripping time of forms of slabs (spanning upto 4.5mt.)

![Page 18: Summer Internship in Jaypee Group](https://reader033.fdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022051318/58ec8de41a28abe8778b4661/html5/thumbnails/18.jpg)
Concreting of Column & Slab
• All structural concrete shall be design mix concrete (controlled
concrete) of minimum grade M20 for column.
• The column has a concrete cover of 40 mm on all the sides.
• The concrete cover for slab is 20mm.
• The concrete cover for beam is 25mm.
• The concreting should be done upto the bottom of the beam of
the next floor. And the height can be calculated by measuring
from the sofit of slab to the bottom of the beam.
![Page 19: Summer Internship in Jaypee Group](https://reader033.fdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022051318/58ec8de41a28abe8778b4661/html5/thumbnails/19.jpg)
• Checking of bars for Beam, Slab and Column from the
drawings provided from the site office.
• Preparing the BBS (Bar Bending Schedule) for the same.
• To calculate the no. of bars = (L/spacing)+1 for the slabs.
![Page 20: Summer Internship in Jaypee Group](https://reader033.fdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022051318/58ec8de41a28abe8778b4661/html5/thumbnails/20.jpg)

![Page 25: Summer Internship in Jaypee Group](https://reader033.fdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022051318/58ec8de41a28abe8778b4661/html5/thumbnails/25.jpg)
4.1Case • This accident took place at garden isles project in Jaypee Wish Town.
• Health and Safety department at Jaypee prepared an investigating report
which only contained name of person, cause of fatality and
compensation to be paid with an attached copy of the F.I.R.
![Page 26: Summer Internship in Jaypee Group](https://reader033.fdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022051318/58ec8de41a28abe8778b4661/html5/thumbnails/26.jpg)
• Reason : As per safety guidelines, while removing the safety net another net
should be installed at a place just below where the previous net existed and
another net 6 floors below that for extra protection but none of this safety
measures were taken, resulting in this fatality.
• After this incident, the construction activity was stopped for 2days,
resulting in huge loss in the productivity.
• We also pointed out that, only on this site alone there have been 6
fatalities due to unavailability of PPE’s and improper supervision from
the In-Charge
![Page 27: Summer Internship in Jaypee Group](https://reader033.fdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022051318/58ec8de41a28abe8778b4661/html5/thumbnails/27.jpg)
![Page 28: Summer Internship in Jaypee Group](https://reader033.fdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022051318/58ec8de41a28abe8778b4661/html5/thumbnails/28.jpg)
• Shortfall in safety :
– Only few workers at site wore safety shoes other all workers worked
in slippers and were allowed to do so.
– Some laborers were not wearing safety belt
– There were many duct openings were no rail or covering object was
kept.
– In basement area workers worked continuously for hours without any
PPE’s and were exposed to dust particles which are potential
occupational health hazards.
• Reason:
– The mindset of the workers towards safety was awful. They didn’t
imply to basic requirements of working at heights like wearing
helmet, safety boots and wearing a safety harness while working on
the edges.
– The reason given by them for not wearing PPE’s was that, it hindered
their productivity and movement
– The amount of these PPE’s per worker ratio was also very less.

document prepared which was between Jaypee Group and SJ
Fabricators.
• Comparative study between CPWD conditions and contract
condition was done for : Agreement between Jaypee Group
and ARCOP
• Contract Assigment - By Daksh and Abhimanyu.xlsx

6. Quality
• sieve analysis of coarse aggregate
(is 2386-1983)
• flakiness index of coarse aggregate
(is 2386-part 1)
• specific gravity of aggregates by
pycnometer (is 2386- part 3)
• Impact and Crushing strength of
Aggregates. (IS 2386- Part 4)
• Silt Content of Sand. (IS 2386- Part
2)
• Note: Cement was not tested as
Jaypee Cement was used in
construction.
