Dear Students,

“The anxious and unusual times bring unforeseen difficulties but the best of human nature can rise to the challenge.” We all have within us the strength, the patience and the passion to reach the stars to change the world. Let’s not fear change; embrace it. Life is all about moving on, accepting changes and looking forward to what makes us more adaptable and stronger. The Summer Break is scheduled from 14th May to 31st May 2021. Let’s not forget that this year vacations are not meant to explore the world outside but present an opportunity to rediscover ourselves while staying home and being safe. Summer Vacation has always been considered to be the most desirable period looked forward by children when they can go beyond academics but let’s not make it a challenging situation clouded with the gloominess of Corona Pandemic. So, embark on a journey of fun and adventure by reading books, exercising, meditating, dancing and channelizing your energy in a positive manner. In addition, maintain the momentum and rigour that has been built in the learning through the last year. Plan out and complete the holiday homework. In addition, revise the syllabus already completed and check the dates for Periodic Test – 1and make earnest and sincere preparation for the same. So during this unique break when you are homebound, be a source of support and help to your parents, be positive, focused, self disciplined and do live life with enthusiasm and zeal.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Conduct a simple market research with the objective of estimating demand for an existing product in the market. Students will have to give an innovative suggestion to the product. Suppose if you choose shampoo and your preferred brand is Loreal then you need to compare it between 4 brands of shampoo like Sunsilk,Dove,Head and Shoulders and Loreal. Note :

Avoid products whose use is discouraged/banned by the society and government like alcohol/pan masala , tobacco products, etc.

Survey to be conducted from home . Format for Presentation of Market Survey Report :

It should be done individually.

The work should be hand written in loose sheets.

The survey report should be original and proper analysis for all questions in the questionnaire should be done.

The format for presentation of report which should be arranged in the following sequence: a) Executive summary b) Index c) Introduction to the topic (Introduction , objectives , steps , tools , advantages and disadvantages ) d) Profile of the organizations(concern of your choice and the competitor concerns) e) Questionnaires (the students will be preparing questionnaires based on their product which they will mail to individuals for collecting the feedback and communicate via telephone or some online mode. There is no need to collect data by moving out of their homes as the current circumstances are not favourable.) f) Data analysis and interpretation g) Conclusion and recommendation h) Bibliography i) Signature of teacher

3)Traffic accidents occur due to various reasons. While problems in roads or inadequate

safety facilities lead to some accidents, majority of accidents are caused by drivers’

carelessness and their failure to abide by traffic rules.

ITS Roadwork is a company that deals with manufacturing and installing of traffic lights so as

to minimize the risk of accidents. Keeping in view the requirements, traffic simulation is to be

done. Write a program in python that simulates a traffic light. The program should perform

the following:

a) A user defined function traffic light() that accepts input from the user, displays an error

message if the user enters anything other than RED,YELLOW and GREEN. Function light() is

called and the following is displayed depending upon return value from light():

i)”STOP, Life is more important than speed” if the value returned by light() is 0 ii)”PLEASE GO SLOW” if the value returned by light() is 1 iii)”You may go now” if the value returned by light() is 2

b)A user-defined function light() that accepts a string as input and return 0 when the input is

RED, 1 when the input is YELLOW and 2 when the input is GREEN. The input should be passed

as an argument.

c) Display “Better late than never” after the function trafficlight() is executed.
