St. Mary Catholic Parish –July 10, 2011
‘Everyone who acknowledges Me before others I will acknowledge before My heavenly Father.’
(Mt 10:32) Your words, O Lord, call me to live and speak the Gospel without fear. Help me, I pray; to respond to this challenge, in my home, my workplace, my neighborhood, my parish. Send the Holy Spirit into my heart, to fully convert me and inflame me with Your love. For You have said, ‘from the fullness of the heart the mouth speaks” (Mt 12:4). By Your grace may I live my Catholic faith with joy and firm resolve; may I take hold of the pearl of great price and never let go. Come, Holy Spirit, come! Amen.

DOMINICAN REPUBLIC MISSION TRIP DINNER SATURDAY JULY 9 AFTER 5:00 MASS
Fr. Bill is hosting a Dominican-style dinner for a fundraiser for our Dominican Republic Mission Trip. We will begin after the 5:00 Mass on Saturday, July 9, 2011. Please join us for some fun at this free-will offering
dinner. Hungry Howies in Hamburg has agreed to do another fundraiser for us on July 20th. All you have to do is order pizza from them on July 20th, and a percentage of the sales on that day will be donated to our mission trip. Please tell your friends and family…the more orders the better! Thanks for supporting us. We would like to thank everyone who has shown such support either monetarily or with your prayer. We certainly appreciate your support. We are getting excited
about our upcoming trip. We leave on July 30th which will be here before we know it. Some of the things we will be doing are: accompanying the doctor & nurse into the mountain villages to help with medical clinics (which includes weighing children, taking temps, taking blood pressures, administering vitamins, recording information for Dr. Angel, etc); setting up the nutrition center & getting it ready for opening; and helping out at the center for the elderly. Again, thank you for all you have done to make this mission trip a success. We hope to see you Saturday
evening at the fundraiser dinner! God Bless,

Random Acts of Kindness It was one of those ice cream days of summer. The kind where it gets so hot that you are almost literally pulled down to the ice cream shoppe. When I found myself there this particularly steamy day, it was an ice cream zoo-people standing around the front eating ice cream, people wandering the street, ice cream in hand. After waiting patiently for what seemed like forever, I finally got my double scoop of strawberry. As I turned to leave, I came across a small boy standing in the doorway with an empty sugar cone in his hand and two scoops of strawberry melting away on the sidewalk. He had giant tears streaming down his cheeks and his mother was saying, “You should have been more careful.” I took one look at his double scoop of strawberry melting on the sidewalk and my double scoop still neatly packed into a cone, handed it to him, and walked away. It is one of the most beautiful compensations of life that no man can sincerely try to help another without helping himself. – Ralph Waldo Emerson
