Summer Grocery Program Now more than ever, families with kids on the school lunch program need our support. With your help MUST Ministries will feed hungry children and families throughout this summer, no matter what.
This year we are supporting MUST’s Summer Lunch Program by partnering with Roswell United Methodist Church (RUMC) and other local churches to provide nutritious
meals for hungry kids and their families.
Food Drive —Throughout the summer, June 6—July 26, drive your food donations to the doors outside LCR’s Gathering Room on Saturday or Sunday from 2—4pm. This will be a contactless drop off. To maintain social distancing, LCR volunteers will wear masks and unload your car.
Food items needed: 1 lb ground beef, spaghetti, pasta sauce, mac & cheese, canned chunky soup, canned fruit, hot dogs, hot dog buns, block of cheese, crackers, cereal, tortillas, can of refried or black beans, can of corn, jar of jelly, read the full list here.
Financial Donations —Donate through MUST Ministries to purchase box lunches click here, then enter “Summer Lunch” in the comment section. Because of restrictions put in place last year by State and County Health Officials and coupled with Covid-19 pandemic this year, MUST is no longer accepting pre-made sandwiches. Music
Here is the picture of Mitchell Frey and (official name) his Chromatic Tenor Ocarina. Ocarina is Italian for “Little Goose” and is called “Sweet Potato” because of its often orange color and shape. According to the Encyclopedia Britannica, “In the 1930s it won professional popularity when “sweet potatoes” of different sizes were played in harmony in American popular music. The ocarina is a well-known European example of the globular flute, a form that occurs in many ancient and modern cultures.” - Helen Phelps

On January 7, 2020 the south of Puerto Rico was rocked by a series of earthquakes. The town of Guánica was particularly hard hit. LCR made a contribution to support the Disaster recovery work of San Marcos Lutheran Church. Last week we received pictures and a report from San Marcos about the trip, written by Máver Vélez. Peace be with the congregation of Lutheran Church of the Resurrection. Enclosed are photos of our trip to the town of Guánica, after the January 7, 2020 earthquake and its aftershocks. We went on February 28th with school supplies, food and hygiene continued on page 4

Online Giving, “Give a High 5 to Guatemala”
continued from page 3 articles for that much affected community. Your donation helped a lot to accomplish the purpose of helping them when most needed. We visited Pastor Miguel Dros’ Presbyterian Church in Guánica and left all donations with them. They perfectly know their community and town and are actively working to help all of them, depending on their needs. Virma (LCR member), Pedro and myself really appreciate your donation as well as our congregation, San Marcos Lutheran Church and our Pastor, Gabriel Nanco. Blessings, Máver Vélez Pictures: 1.
