Ask Around
My ultimate travel tip is to avoid cliché tourist sites and meet
people instead. To truely experience somewhere you
must engage with the locals.
Hear their stories, learn their culture and form new life
long friends.
My tip would be to thoroughly research
your destination before you go, especially when
travelling to some of the more exotic locations on the planet. Wearing jeans and sports
socks in Antarctica does not constitute adequate attire for
the climate!
No trip to Thailand is complete until you try elephant
riding. The elephant sanctuary at Anantara Chiang Rai was an amazing
experience. Make sure you have adequate
clothing, including something you
don’t mind getting wet!

Revel in the intricate carvings of deities and their consorts adorning the walls and facia of temples. Experience the calm of spiritual salvation as you visit Varanasi, one of the holiest of all the sacred cities in India; all Hindus will try and visit Varanasi once in a life time. Or spend time in Rishikesh where back in the 60s the Beatles met their guru, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.
Home to the Himalayas, miles of shoreline, expanses of forest. The backwaters of Kerala, the beaches of Goa and the coral reefs of Andaman’s. There is so much to explore and so much to discover.

FLAVOURS
FAMILY HOLIDAYSIndia is a wonderful destination for families. A holiday in India can be both educational and fun. You can visit monuments for an introduction to the country’s history, you can absorb the culture and meet the people, you can ride elephants and camels or even bamboo rafts in southern India.
Indian cuisine changes every 300 miles. Get a taste of a fiery hot Andhra curry or the soothing comfort of a neer dosa. Take a cooking lesson from a celebrity Chef or spend the day with a housewife in her kitchen. Take a walk in a street market and visit the food stalls, or better still, get your apron out and try your hand cooking street food at a live stall. Whatever tickles your taste buds.

You can camp out in the desert in Northern India or spend the night in a palace, learn to bargain at local markets, track animals in the jungles or learn a craft from an expert. There is a something for everyone

India’s natural heritage is extraordinary. Across the country, each park has flora and fauna which is distinct and represents animals and birds that are often indigenous to each region.

UNTAMED INDIA
TODAYS INDIAIndia has a rich past and an ever developing present. Walk through the winding lanes of markets and learn how to bargain Indian style, step out into the countryside and spend time in a village where life follows its own rhythms.
At schools you can spend time with the students and exchange stories, learn a game or have a sing along. Champagne under the stars, menus designed by Michelin starred Chefs, classical music festivals, thriving art exhibitions or dining in a private home. If you can think of it, we can arrange.

This vivid forested land has been an inspiration to many a writer such as Rudyard Kipling who wrote about it in his “Jungle Book”. The bamboo thickets, extensive grassland and dense forests are home to a wide variety of animals including wolves, sloth bears, wild dogs, bison, leopards, cheetahs, Asiatic lions and of course the Tiger- India’s vast and varied topography offers something for every adventurer.
FESTIVALS OF INDIAThe Indian festival calendar is a busy one and including a festival in a visit to India makes a trip very special. Festivals in India have a long history and follow rituals which have remained unchanged through generations. It is easy to leave behind the hustle and bustle of the modern world, and, for a while, escape into a different time. Not only will these events give you some of the best photographs of your visit, they will allow you to see some of the lesser known aspects of the country.
