This camp introduces campers to dog trainingtechniques through popular dog sports like agility,rally obedience and nose work. The emphasis isalways on safety and responsibility to the dogsand to the fellow campers. Campers must becapable of independently controlling and caringfor their dog. Campers must bring a non-aggressive dog, who is at least 6 months old, andhigh value treats each day of camp. Repeatingcampers are always welcome. Teen CampsREC LEADER IN TRAINING (RLIT) 13 to 15 years, Senior Center Valente Room

This program provides an introduction tovolunteering in City camps. Participants spend thefirst two weeks of each session learning thefundamentals of good decision making skills,sound work ethics and professionalism. Emphasisis placed on developing leadership skills, teachingresponsibility and teamwork. Participants learnspecific skills such as camp games, songs,activities, crafts and bike safety. Training in first aidand mandated reporting will be provided. Pendinga successful interview at the end of the secondweek, participants will spend the third weekvolunteering in one of our camps. Each sessionwill have a combination of in-person and virtualclassroom time. GUPPY/MANTA RAY6 to 14 yearsIn-water parent participation is required for this course.Swimmers must have passed Starfish/Minnow or have equalskills. They willbe working on endurance and kicking 50 yards, sitting andstanding dive and the survival float.$43

SWORDFISH6 to 14 yearsSwimmers must have passed Stingray/Marlin or have similarskills. Participants will increase their endurance as theycontinue to develop their front and back crawl. They will beintroduced to the breaststroke, elementary backstroke, and25 yards breaststroke without stopping. Participants willpractice the survival swim, stride dive, underwater swim andtreading water. $43

DOLPHIN6 to 14 yearsSwimmers must have passed Swordfish or have similar skills.Participants will learn butterfly and sidestroke. They will beswimming 100 yards freestyle, backstroke, elementarybackstroke and breaststroke without stopping. They will beintroduced to more advanced safety skills and the 100IM aswell as swimming 25 yards sidestroke.$43

SHARK/KILLER WHALE6 to 14 yearsSwimmers must have passed Dolphin or have similar skills.Participants will continue to refine their skills with anemphasis placed on butterfly, flip turns and endurance. Theywill be swimming 200 yards of freestyle, backstroke,elementary backstroke and breaststroke without stoppingand treading water for 3 minutes. $43

PRIVATE LESSONS3 years and upOne on one instruction. Great for introducing the water toshy or beginning swimmers, improving stroke work,technique or other areas as requested for the moderate toadvanced swimmers. $93

We recommend swimmers repeat the lastlevel they completed the previous summer torefresh their skills.Every swimmer learns at a different rate. It iscommon for children to remain in the samelevel for two or more sessions; especially ifthey are at a beginner level.Some classes fill up quickly, have alternatechoices ready for registration.Check which location you are registering for, ifone is full, we offer lessons at Manor andArroyo Pool.Be on time or early to class! This helps avoiddisruptions to the class.Please make sure your child has a swimsuit,towel and plenty of sunscreen! For children indiapers, a swim diaper must be worn in thepool to help protect against waterborneillnesses. Goggles and swim caps can be wornduring classes though we don't allow noseplugs or full face masks.Classes will be conducted rain or shine;however, classes will be cancelled when severeweather conditions (lightning, hail, smoke, etc.)are in the area. In the event of severe weatherand classes are cancelled, you will receive acredit for the missed class unless the Aquaticsstaff can provide a make-up date. The City of Davis Parks and Community ServicesDepartment is offering a variety of summer campsand classes modified to meet restrictions inresponse to COVID-19.

Unfortunately, due to ongoing COVID restrictions,it was determined that Camp Putah and Trekkerscannot be offered this summer. REGISTRATION OPENS ON:April 13 for programs June 14-July 18 May 18 for programs July 19-August 31 Registration opens at 8:00am.

Consequences for misbehavior are usually progressive and reflectthe severity of the unacceptable behavior. Listed below is aprogression of discipline. Please note that discipline may not besequential and one severe act could lead to dismissal from ourprograms.

ePACT NETWORKThe City of Davis Parks and Community Services Department usessoftware called ePACT Network to collect emergency and medicalinformation for certain youth programs. This information isrequired for certain programs and incomplete files will delayprogram participation. Electronic forms will only be accepted-nopaper forms.

LATE PICK-UP POLICYParents who are late to pick-up their children after the program isover will be charged the following amounts:

After 1 hour, $50 and the police will be notified, if parents have notalready contacted the program staff. Parents must be prepared topay upon pick-up of their child, or the child will be unable toparticipate in the program the following days. After three (3) latepick-ups, the participants may be dropped from the program withno refund.

Receive a program or activity transfer, at no additional expense,with any remaining balance credited to the customer’s account;Receive a full credit of equal value on the customer’s accountthat can be applied to any other activityin the future;Refund to credit card (if payment was madewith credit card);Refund by direct mail within 4 weeks (if payment was made withcash or check);

95% refund if requested more than 10 business days prior tothe beginning of the class or program.50% refund if requested 2 to 10 business days prior to thebeginning of the class or program.

Customers who wish to transfer from one class to another maydo so up to 11 business days in advance with no charge. Transfers requested 1-10 business days in advance will becharged 25% of the cost of the program.Transfers must be for the same participant.

PROGRAM & REGISTRATIONPOLICIES QUALITY ASSURANCEIt is our goal to provide our customers with high quality recreationprograms, events and activities. We take great pride in helping tomake your experience with us an enjoyable one. If we misrepresentthe program in any way, please contact us and share your concernsand suggestions for improvement. If you or your family memberattends the entire first class or activity and finds the program wasmisrepresented, you may submit a Quality Assurance form no laterthan 24 hours after the first class meeting. Upon receiving thecompleted form, staff may arrange for oneof the following:

Quality Assurance refunds or customer credits are not guaranteedand will not be given after the second class meeting. QualityAssurance refunds are not valid for event ticket sales, excursions,one-day specialty programs, sport leagues, daily or seasonal passesor facility rentals.

REFUND & TRANSFER POLICYPlease note: All cancellation and transfer requests must besubmitted by e-mail to [email protected]. No refunds orcredits will be given for refund requests received less than two fullbusiness days prior to the class starting date. No refunds or creditswill be given for adult sports leagues, swim passes, fitness passesor teen special events. If you must drop a class due to a serious illness or injury, pleasecontact us immediately. Prorated refunds may be given after aprogram has begun if written medical verification is provided. Aprorated refund will be based on the number of days left in theclass upon receipt of your written medical verification in our office.If we receive the written medical verification after the end of theclass, no refund will be given. Refunds for cash or checkregistrations will be refunded by the City of Davis via check in 2 to 3weeks. Refunds for credit card transactions will be credited back tothe card used.

PROGRAM & REGISTRATIONPOLICIES continued...CANCELLATIONS/CHANGESThe City has the right to cancel or change programming based onlow enrollment, unexpected problems, inclement weather,mosquito spraying, poor air quality and/or any other natural factorsthat may alter outdoor programming. The City reserves the right tocancel the programming if, in the City’s sole discretion,circumstances beyond its control including, without limitation, actsof the government, riots, fires, floods, or other casualty, epidemics,earthquakes, Public Safety Power Shut Offs, or unusually severeweather, necessitate such a cancellation. The City shall providenotice of cancellation under this provision as soon as is practicableand will provide a household credit, if applicable. The City has theright to combine or divide courses, to change the time/date/placeof courses, to change the instructor and to make other changeswhich become necessary to ensure a quality experience for ourparticipants.

REASONABLE ACCOMMODATIONSParticipants requesting ADA accommodations need to contact theProgram Coordinator, 3 weeks prior to the start of an enrolled classto discuss individual needs. If notification is received less than 3weeks prior to the start of a program, the City may not be able toguarantee appropriate accommodations. The City will make allreasonable modifications to policies and procedures to ensure thatpeople with disabilities have an equal opportunity, in accordancewith the ADA to access all City programs, services and activities. FAIR SHARE POLICY (NON-RESIDENT FEES)A non-resident fee will be charged for all youth living outside of theDavis Joint Unified School District boundaries and all adults livingoutside the Davis city limits. Generally the non-resident fee is 10%,but some activities may have a lower fee based upon nature of theactivity.

WAITLIST POLICYOnce an activity/camp is full, a waitlist will begin. If a spacebecomes available, registration staff will contact individuals on thewaitlist. Participants cannot be on a waitlist and enrolled in anactivity/camp of the same type during the same session. Anyparticipant enrolled and on a waitlist for activities of the same type,during the same session will be removed from the waitlist withoutnotice. Be sure your email address is up to date, as email is ourprimary method of contact. If a wait list participant requires ADAaccommodations, the City may not provide support if enrolled atshort notice.

INCLEMENT WEATHERIn the event of inclement weather (for example but not limited to):excessive temperature, mosquito spraying and/or poor air quality,the city will attempt to make accommodations to limit exposure butreserves the right to cancel class(es).

PHOTOGRAPHY/VIDEOThe City may take photographs or video-based marketing materialof program participants to promote city events, programs andclasses for publicity and/or web content without royalty, fees orother compensation.

LIABILITY FORMA liability form must be completed each adult residing in thehousehold and include all minors in the household. A household isdefined as all persons living within the same home. Programs listedin the Rec Guide are described as activities that may be ofhazardous, strenuous, and/or physical nature. Participation in thedescribed activities come with risk and may occasionally result inbodily injury, personal injury, sickness, disease, death, property lossor damage, exposure/risk to the coronavirus disease (“COVID-19”),and the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (“SARS-CoV-2”) arising from participation in programs and activitiesdescribed in the Rec Guide, the Adaptive Recreation activitycalendar, and the Senior Scene.
