Nature Day Camp July 9-13 Ages: 6-13 *Day CampBy popular demand, it wouldn’t be a NorthWoods summer if we didn’t devote a week to exploring nature up close, including canoe trips on the Clyde wetlands, and testing team work and personal confidence on the ropes course. We’ll also hike up a local peak, investigate pond life, and enjoy games and outdoor challenges.

Survival CampJuly 23-27 Ages: 8-13 *Overnight ThWe’ll explore favorite summer activities like swimming, canoeing, games, and team challenges. Campers will get hands-on with primitive skills like shelter and fire-building, orienteering, carving, camp preparation and tracking. Daily challenges will test their acquired skills, teamwork and leadership on the high & low ropes course and throughout our outdoor classroom.

Earth Sisters CampAugust 6-10 Ages: 8-13 *Overnight T-W-ThWe are excited to offer this all-girls experience, celebrating our relationship to nature and to each other. Led by female instructors, this camp will emphasize primitive skills, arts and crafts, and nature exploration and interpretation. After a pilot program last year, the Earth Sisters will home-base in the beautiful NW bunkhouse.

Junior Counselor Training Session June 20-22 Ages: 13-16 *OvernightFor young adults, ready to build their skills as an outdoor leader during summer camps. Gain training in first aid, leadership, communication, group management, as well as technical outdoor skills. Each counselor in training can choose a focus on mountain biking, survival skills, or environmental science. We will home-base at the NorthWoods bunkhouse, and will also share Burke Mountain trails and facilities. Campers who complete this training session are eligible to become Junior Counselors at a NorthWoods Summer Camp, or Mountain Bike Adventure Camp. Or, they may simply enjoy the challenge and camaraderie of the session, with no camp commitment to follow.Wed-Fri, Drop-off Wed 9am, Pick-up Fri 3pm, $300
Wild Science Discovery CampJune 25-29 Ages: 8-13 *Day CampCampers who are fascinated with nature and wildlife will gain valuable experience with the scientific method, sampling techniques, and knowledge of the wild flora and fauna of the northern forest ecosystem, exploring alongside scientists and researchers in the field. Projects include electro-fishing, small mammal studies, and learning about mountain top ecosystems.

Clyde River Canoe CampJuly 3-6 Ages 9-13 *OvernightThe Clyde River runs through NorthWoods’ backyard, and we’ll explore from its headwaters in Island Pond until it empties into Lake Memphremagog, 35 miles downstream. Paddlers will learn tricks of the trade for canoe journeys, from paddling skills to camp preparation. The Clyde winds through wetlands rich with unique plant and animal species, through scenic lakes and ponds, and features great fishing, a vivid cultural history and many special spots to explore.Tue-Fri, Drop-off Tues 9am, Pick-up Fri 1pm, $400
Water Explorers July 16-20 Ages 6-13 *Day CampDo you and your kids like water as much as the fish do? Campers spend a week in the heat of July exploring water, through a variety of mediums including canoes, with fishing poles, with nets and masks & snorkel. We’ll learn about the macroinvertebrates of the small stream, we’ll explore the wetlands of the Clyde, and we’ll practice our swim strokes in some of our favorite Kingdom waterbodies. Note: The camp day is shorter, allowing for more jam-packed exploration, and some time to relax and connect at home as well.
