LEADERS IN TRAINING (LIT)AGES 13-15SESSIONS 2-11

LIT is a program filled with a variety of leadership opportunities for teens who feel that they have out grown the camp curriculum. This program is designed to work with teens throughout the summer to enhance growth, learning and leadership skills that will cultivate their professional development. Separate from the previous CIT program, LIT will offer more intentional and instructional opportunities for youth to learn how to work with children in a camp setting. Teens who have participated in the previously offered CIT program or shown an extensive knowledge of the information learned may be elevated to a more professional track, based on the LIT Directors discretion. Teens will be placed in one of the camps offered thru the Parkway Community YMCA, based on the their performance in their workshops and the LIT Directors assessment. LIT teens will participate in Professional Development workshops multiple times weekly and will be with their assigned camp for practical learning for the remainder of the week. In addition to the program registration all prospective LITs will be required to apply and interview to ensure that they are ready for this program, teens who may not be fully ready can register for the Teen Camp offered by the Parkway Community YMCA.
