Chairman - Mrs S Corcoran 19 Heathway Iver Heath SL0 0BX [email protected] 01753 652 616 To the cast and crew of ALICE IN WONDERLAND and ROMEO & JULIET plus all carers/parents, Firstly we would like to congratulate every single person involved with ALICE and R&J for all your hard work so far. Whilst there is still lots to do we’ve been really impressed and it really shows who has been practising with parents, grandparents, brothers and sisters at home. Keep it up! We are writing with further details of the ’warm-up’ show in Beaconsfield this July and the Woking Drama Festival, that OZ was entered into last year. Last year was such a success that this year we’ve entered both shows into the festival. We hope to provide you all with as much information as soon as we have it confirmed. Our Warm-Up Summer Show: This year we will again perform our summer shows at The Beacon Centre Theatre in Beaconsfield on Saturday 6th July 2013. There is a schedule overleaf. The ’warm-up’ show is a great chance for us to show you our work so far and also ‘try it out’ before the drama festival. It is a great community theatre with a licensed bar and it gives us all the experience of performing at a different venue. The bar opens at 5:45pm. It is £5.00 per person and tickets can be reserved by calling Sandra on 01753 652 616. Call and reser ve and is a buy two and get a third free offer available BUT it is limited to the first 50 bookings. There is a full schedule on page two and for the cast and crew to get an idea of what the theatre looks like we’ve made a quick YouTube video which is online now on our Facebook page. Looking further ahead this year: The Woking Drama Festival is one of many opportunities for local drama groups to perform in a real theatre. It is a great chance to hear constructive feedback from professionals who also award prizes in different categories. Last year our Youth show, OZ, won the BackStage Award. The festival takes place each weekday evening with two plays from two different groups. It is likely that our plays will be on different evenings. We do appreciate that this is a ‘school night’ and it will be a late finish for some of the cast. We will give you confirmed dates and times as soon as we have them but if you have any questions or issues please get in touch with anyone of us as soon as possible. The cast will have to arrive with time to spare so we are looking to organise lifts and would ask for your help in organisin g ‘car pools’ to help tran sport the cast. We ha ve a limited number of free tickets for designated drivers willing to help; excluding props, costume and scenery there are roughly 20 people per show to transport there and back. The Rhoda McGaw Theatre hosts the festival and has over 250 seats which we need your help to fill plus I know the casts would love to see a friendly face (YOU!!) in the audience. More information is now at www.wok ingdramafestival.co.u k Thank you once again for all your help and support as we look to have 2 award-winning plays this October in the club’s 65th year.
