Featured Divisions 1st and 2nd Grade Girls

First Grade Girls (G1A Pineapples, G1B Kiwis and G1C Strawberries) are having a super fun summer

with Division Leader Tiffany and counselors Emily, Liz, Callie, Saskia, Morgan and Kelsey! These fun,

kind and polite girls include each other in everything, and their favorite activities are Bungee Trampoline,

Karate and Swim!

Lindsay’s Second Grade Girls love LakeView in their “Peace, Love, Camp” groovy bunk this summer!

They especially love Dance, Lanyard/Jewelry and Outdoor Adventure; they’re energetic, bubbly and smile

with everything they do with their counselors Sydney, Emily, Shelby, Kim, Angela, Shawn, Nariman and

Brianna.

What’s Cooking in Cooking

This week’s favorite recipe is for Carrot Cake Muffins!

Mix in a bowl (add ingredients in this order): 2 eggs

2/3 cup vegetable oil 1 tsp baking soda

½ tsp baking powder 2 pinches salt

1 tsp cinnamon ½ cup sugar 1 cup flour

2 cups grated carrots

Pour batter into 12 muffin tins and bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes.

SPORTS LEAGUE UPDATE This summer, Senior campers and 3rd and 4th graders can enjoy some friendly competition in a wide range of sports – baseball, football, soccer, hockey, handball, basketball, with In-Camp Sports League. Campers are

drafted and coached by counselors in their divisions, and winners of the second session will be crowned (with a Sports League Champion t-shirt!) on Friday of Week 7!

And LakeView’s Travel Sports League campers (also Seniors) play four sports – baseball, football, basketball and soccer, against two other area camps – Black Bear Lake and Liberty Lake in the Central Jersey Sports League!

Happy Birthday This Week’s Featured

International is Katherine, who

joins us from Southampton,

England for her first summer at

LakeView!

Katherine is one of our

Pioneering Specialists, where

she spends her time

introducing campers to our

resident horse Reese (back for

a second summer!), and the

goats Cheese and Cracker.

She likes the happy

atmosphere at camp, and

says that it seems that

everyone sings and dances all

the time! Katherine also loves

the food here in the U.S. –

especially the desserts!

Katherine plans to travel here

in the U.S. with the other

LakeView international staff,

and plans to work in animal

conservation when she returns

home to England!

Performing Arts Overnight Week LakeView Seniors had the opportunity to spend the week (including the nights!) here at camp, enjoying singing, dancing and acting! Once camp was over each afternoon, campers worked on monologues and rehearsed a group number from Hairspray, which they performed at morning meeting on Friday. The campers went into New York on Thursday night to see Matilda on Broadway, and enjoyed lip sync battles and more before going to sleep each night!
