Tasks of NRDC Centre Network (Extraction)
• Compilation of experimental nuclear reaction data (EXFOR)
• Collection of evaluated nuclear reaction data (ENDF),
• Coordinated development of computer software for managing and disseminating nuclear data,
• Coordination of the development and dissemination of end user software for both on line and local access to nuclear data,
• Documentation of current and future data needs in order to be able to meet changing user demands.
CNDC (China): •Scanning and compiling data reported in own language is highly appreciated by the international community! Unique role of regional centre to the world
CNDC (China, cont) •Providing data received from the world to user in the country in their own language. -> Unique role of regional centres to the country)

**Since many authors used the data from the EXFOR
database for comparison with their results, and some
even use the EXFOR database as the lone
reference(without referring the article), it is very
important to compile correct and as much information as
possible from the article and improve the EXFOR
database by these methods(user feedbacks etc.) so as
to make it more and more reliable.
The 3rd Asian Nuclear Reaction Database Development Workshop, Pohang Accelerator Laboratory, Pohang, Korea, 27-29 August, 2012
NDPCI (India): •Collection of feedback from users (Only a part of users provide comments to data centres.) •How can we collect users’ feedback more efficiently?
•Library evaluators in CNDC, JAEA and KAERI can contribute a lot.
CONCLUSION We would like to express our sincere gratitude to DAE-BRNS for funding us this project . Working on EXFOR compilation we have achieved valuable lessons and information. This project gave us an opportunity to learn and acquire a much better understanding of experiments . We are looking forward to learn and gain as much as possible in the future while working with EXFOR COMPILATION OF NUCLEAR DATA.
NDPCI (India, cont): • EXFOR compilation: Good opportunity to understand experiments for non-experts.
EXPERIENCES AND LESSONS LEARNT IN EXFOR COMPILATION-PART -II NDPCI (India, cont):
• Summary on technical question on EXFOR compilation (must be done by very compiler) •Good opportunity for me to learn difficulty of EXFOR compilation (face-to-face)
In EXFOR format, it is unable to describe intermediate state and sequential reaction, which are expected to be important in the nuclear reaction data with RI beam.
For example,
PLB690(2010)245( E2173) JCPRG (Japan): •New (exotic) experimental techniques and quantities
•Exceeding capability of the current EXFOR formats.
•Do people want to find such data in EXFOR?
•Similar problem in other Asian countries?
JCPRG (Japan, cont): •XML – Candidate for new experimental data library (c.f. OECD WPEG Subgroup for new format for evaluated data library) •Software (editor, digitizer) available to researchers. (Collaboration / exchange in software development)

KAERI (Korea): • Compilation of the experimental data by the same
group. Ideal situation!!

Regional information where a NRDC centre does not exist (Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Pakistan, Vietnam): • Not easy to find information even if the information is on the Internet.
•How can we improve communication with these countries?

Big Almaty Lake
Big Almaty Lake, located at an altitude of 2511 m on the upper side of the canyon by the same name, is fed by the Almaty River running through it, and is part of a wonderful national park.
Regional information where a NRDC centre does not exist (Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Pakistan, Vietnam, cont): • Good opportunity to make the regional activity more visible to the world through the data centre network.
•Good opportunity to show importance of nuclear data activity to the country.
•Technology transfer is an important task of IAEA!
International Cooperation
International Organizations through Nuclear Energy Agency:
IAEA: TC & RCA projects - training, equipment, networks (ANENT)
JINR (Dubna, Russia) – joint research, job-training
Nuclear Reaction Lab
Neutron Physics Lab
ICTP (Trieste, Italy) - training
International Networks – FNCA (Japan)
Intergovernmental cooperation:
Bilateral Cultural Agreements - HRD
Bilateral MOU and Agreements on NE & RAM: Russia, Japan, France, India, China, USA, Korea
Joint research agreements: FSF/Russia and SF/Mon
Regional information where a NRDC centre does not exist (Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Pakistan, Vietnam, cont): •Technology transfer (an important task of IAEA!)
•Student Exchange.
International Atomic Energy Agency
Summary
• Each regional centre has unique roles • Provision of regional data to the world / to the country.
• Benefit of Compilation is beneficial for the country. • Visibility of activity of the country (more citation)
• Better understanding of various experiments.
• Asian Database meeting in various countries. • Very fruitful communication!! (Not like official meetings nor big
conferences.)
• Unique role activity of data centres
(compilation, evaluation: Slightly different from pure research)
• Good chance to meet people who are not in the Data Centre meetings.
• Good chance to meet young researchers of the country.

Application to the AASPP Program (2009)
The outcomes of the current AASPP Program was more
than my expectation!
I hope the extension of the extension of the
Asian Database Project will be successfully approved!
