Age

• 100% of those who answered my first questionnaire were between the ages 16-20 which reveals this is the specific audience I should be targeting in terms of context of the film. My plot and characters should be of a similar age in order to appeal to my audience so they are able to sympathise or understand the situations that the characters are in to some extent.

Gender

• 50% of males and 50% of females answered my questionnaire which suggests despite romance being associated with female leaning, some of the films within the genre may also appropriately appeal to a male audience also. This suggests I will needs to make a trailer that to some extent will appeal to both genres in some way.

Hobbies and interests

• Hobbies and interests of those who answered my questionnaire included jointly some form of exercise and also listening to music. Therefore the music of the trailer needs to be clearly thought out in order to meet the expectations of the audience in terms of age and gender. Meaning it needs to be well recognised by its audience. Some of the participants also stated that they enjoyed reading which suggests they may read the books associated with the film which means the film should incorporate elements of the book and show clear understanding of the plot.

Favourite romantic film

• The answers to this questions gained a varied bunch of results including The Hunger Games, The Notebook, Fault in our Stars and 10 things I hate about you. All suggested it was because of the emotions within the film therefore the trailer needs to reveal these emotions and make the storyline appear dramatic and sincere so that it can appeal to the audience. They also made comment of how the female finally finds the man she wants revealing there support for the typical ‘boy meets girl’ scenario.

• The target audience suggested the soft fading techniques made the trailer effective as it built up to an unexpected accident happening. The fade to black showed the severity of the accident which was sad for the audience to witness.
