Narrative Report I am currently Chief Resident at the Harvard Affiliated Emergency Medicine Residency (HAEMR) and a medical anthropologist conducting health equity research at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, and at the Center for Research in Indigenous Health in Guatemala. I completed my MD and PhD in Anthropology at Washington University in St. Louis. My doctoral dissertation focused on health system development and reproductive health care in low- and middle-income countries, based on field research conducted in Guatemala. Through graduate training, I developed expertise in qualitative and ethnographic research. As a researcher, I have held leadership roles in mentoring teams of research assistants, graduate, and medical students. My mentees have presented at several national meetings and have been co-authors on publications. After completing clinical training in emergency medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital, I aim to launch my career as a clinician-researcher focused on access to health care and innovations in health care delivery for vulnerable populations.
