In his book Can't Stop Won't Stop, Jeff Chang uses hip-hop to radically remix the last 25 years of American's political and social history. The Chicago Sun Times calls it "the best-argued, most-thoroughly researched case for hip-hop as a complete and truly American culture." But the book is only ostensibly about hip-hop; it's really a people's history. Chang is the Howard Zinn of hip-hop! A radical historian with both street cred and academic chops, he tackles race relations, students activism, political engagement, multiculturalism and the politics of abandonment so keenly felt by America's city youth. World AIDS Day 2015: Getting Closer to Zero Health and Wellness

This presentation will discuss progress on the United Nations’ vision for HIV of “Getting to Zero” by 2015. This includes Zero new infections, Zero discrimination, and Zero AIDS-related deaths. The current status of the infection in the U.S. and worldwide; progress in HIV prevention, treatment, care; and possibilities for a vaccine or cure will be presented. Student volunteers will engage in safer sex simulation games and urged to act now to produce an AIDS-free generation in the future.
