My Education Path

• Graduated Arroyo High School in 2009.• 2.85 GPA• Rejected from every college I applied to.

• Attended Chabot and Ohlone College from Summer 2009 to Spring 2012.• Provided me with a new beginning.• Interest in Engineering began in ENGR 10!• Graduated with a 3.9 GPA

My Education PathStarting at Chabot…

Advice: Focus on Math, Physics, and Engineering courses ASAP! GPA matters! So…

Take your time in school. Staying an extra year in community college can help tremendously!

Set goals and achieve them! I am no genius! I found something I am passionate about and I

WORK HARD. Form Study Groups.

My Education PathTransferring

• Applied and was accepted to Cal Poly and UC Berkeley.• Cal Poly’s Learn by Doing philosophy (Practical)• UC Berkeley (Theoretical)

• Transferred to Cal Poly (SLO) Fall 2012 (B.S. Electrical Engineering)• Graduating in Spring 2015• Focus: Mix Signal Circuit Design and RF/Microwave Circuit Theory and Design. • President’s list with 3.93 total GPA

Engr 11/43/25/CSCI 14 Design processes from ENGR 11are used on a daily

basis in industry. Matlab is used often in my current internship. Computer programming is in HIGH demand.

Math 1,2,3,4,6 Calculus and differential equations are used often in

circuit theory and RF/Microwave circuit design. Physics 4A, 4B, and 4C.

Develop problem solving skills. Many electrical engineering problems use principles

learned in 4B.

Transferring Tips(Chabot Cal Poly)

Chabot to Cal Poly Transition: Quarter system is fast pace!

Learn and take the time to UNDERSTAND the fundamentals taught at Chabot.

Professors want you to succeed. Attend office hours religiously!

Engineering is very competitive Get involved! Get experience through projects!

Projects Projects are essential to building a strong

technical resume. Having project experience open doors to

possible internship opportunities.

I have personally improved: Problem solving. Teamwork and Leadership skills. Design and Testing Strategies. Communication. And much more!!!

Electrocardiograph (EKG)

Powered by one 9V battery

Modular design. Implemented differential

amplifier design. Amplified heart beat pulse by

80dB or 10,000x! Interfaced with a

microcontroller Low cost

The Internship…Internships are key! Nothing beats experience! Great way to test drive a company. Engineering Internships are paid!

Sometimes housing and relocation money included. How to get an Internship:

Network with professors. Network at college career fairs. Obtain a high GPA. Have project experience. LUCK!

Remember “Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity”
