Transitional Housing / Shelters in the Northwoods Fredrick Place - Rhinelander Provides an emergency, temporary shelter for families, women and men who are experiencing homelessness. Opened August 2009. Size: Up to 16 beds (first come, first serve basis) Persons Eligible: Men/Women/Families (children must attend school). Men and women must be 18 years or older. Must be homeless in accordance with state and federal definitions of homelessness. Only one admission in a 12 month period is permitted. Length of Stay: 30 days in shelter if following house rules and working on goals (can be granted additional 30 day increments as needed). Maximum stay for individual or family is 90 days. Conditions for Admission: Intake/drug screen/breathalyzer. Must pass background check and have no history of violent crimes within past 5 years (domestic violence or battery); no admission granted if registered on state and federal sex offenders list.
