Topic: Weather and Climate
Learning outcomes: To identify types of rainfall – To understand the features of a tropical storm.
Instructions:
1. Watch the following clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i36U3LpJjzU
Then make a poster about the 3 types of rainfall. Copy the following diagrams and add labels to explain what is happening. Your

Hurricanes – Atlantic Ocean
Cyclones – India Ocean

Tropical storms develop where the sea temperature is higher than 27⁰C.
As you know form your rainfall poster warm, warm moist air rises and
condensation occurs.
The rising air creates low pressure which causes surface winds.
The earth’s rotation causes the winds to spin and the storm gets stronger.
Task 2: Follow the instructions to create a pop up tropical storm to show the
features of a tropical storm.
